What ‘season’ is your interior design style?

Whether you are building a new house or renewing, reflecting your unique style is key, but knowing where to start can be difficult.

What colors resonate with you? And what textures do they get the best in your style?

In fashion, color analysis, a tool used to highlight its best colors according to their “season.” The theory determines a color palette of one of the four stations that complements it depending on the skin tone, hair and eyes color.

For example, the theory says that a soft winter would adapt to the tons of cold mute, while a bright spring would hug warm tons that are clear and vibrant.

Just as discovering your own sense of fashion, creating your design style can be a life trip that constantly evolves, but having a starting point can always facilitate things.

The design gurus in Furniture and Homeware Brand Temple & Webster have created an interior design questionnaire inspired by the viral color analysis tendency to help housewives to instill their own personality in their interior spaces.

“It provides clarity about the colors, textures and finishes that take care of it, helping you avoid the excess of endless options,” said Temple & Webster director of Insights and Trends Lucy Sutherland.

“Think about it as your personalized humor board, guiding you to create a space that really reflects your personality.”

Understand the stations

By using a seasonal color palette, you can easily bring more harmony and emotion to your space, according to Mrs. Sutherland.

“It’s not just about how a room looks, it’s about how it makes you feel, and color plays an important role in influencing our mood,” he said.

For example, a winter palette with rich tones and luxurious textures can feel on land and cost, while cakes and soft beds inspired by summer create a quiet and suction cup.

In Melbourne’s suburbanism in the center of Fitzroy, the Recent by Sma Projects adopts this approach with its two color schemes.

The classical collection has a brilliant Nordic palette, inclined towards summer, while arthouse, which has rich and dark finishes through passage, is an example of winter season palette.

Houses inspired by autumn can include warm wood, terrous terracotta and rustic textures.

“This space creates a punished and nostalgic sensation that adapts to someone who values comfort and an appearance of life,” said Sutherland.

Spring can present cakes, clear wood and floral touches, which provides a feeling of energy and optimism.

Inspired by the colors of autumn and its surrounding leafy landscape, the development of Koyo of abadeen in Crows Nest, NSW, presents a clear and dark palette to choose from.

European pale or darkest corn wood floors are found in life spaces, with ivory or soft gray carpets in the rooms.

“When his space reflects his season, he begins to work with his mood instead of him: he becomes a place where energy, calm or comforts it in the right way,” said Sutherland.

“Your season gives you a guide to work, making the style feel more personal and determined.”

“It’s less about following trends and more to create a home that reflects who you are and how you want to feel in your space.”

Style with intention

Once you have found its season, it is good to start a little style, according to Mrs. Sutherland.

“Start small and build with intent,” he said.

“Once you know your season, you can start placing it through accent pieces like a textured cushion, a hero of return in your season or simply art that reflects the tone of your palette.”

Temple & Webster’s you may sacrifice the seasonal style tips in a range of products, which makes it easier to achieve a cohesive look through intelligent color and material choices.

“The beauty of the style per season is that you can create cohesion and mood simply through the attentive color and the material options that speak to you,” said Sutherland.

“The result is a space that not only looks good, but feels good.”
