2025 NCAA softball tournament bracket reveal: SEC takes top seeds on road to College World Series

The road to Oklahoma City for 64 teams will start next Friday the NCAA Softball Tournament 2025 to start. The brojet for this year’s field was unveiled on Sunday evening and a few things about this year’s tournament are clear.

To begin with, the SEC is by far the best conference in this sport, because 14 of the 16 teams of the competition made the field.

Perhaps more import and impressive, seven of the top eight seeds in the tournament went to teams in the SEC, with the only one from the State No. 5 was Florida. The Seminoles were one of the nine ACC teams to make the field, but only one of the three who will organize opening weekend competitions, with no. 14 Duke and no. 11 Clemson.

That means that if the regional round Go Chak, seven of the eight Super Regional sites are played on SEC campuses, which could lead to a SEC-HEV College World Series.

Texas A&M was the number 1 general seed evite that never played this season against no. 2 seeds and four-time reigning National Champs-Oklahoma. Softball fans were robbed of what a matchup between the Sooners and the Aggies would have been in Athens last weekend. However, Texas A&M has a strong thing for the number 1 seed, because they have 19 top 25 victories, which is most in the country. The aggies also achieved victors about strong non-conference enemies such as Florida State and Texas Tech.

South Carolina took the last top-eight seed and caused super regional hosting rights when the gamecocks go so far ahead. South Carolina has an incredibly memorable season under first-year coach Ashley Chastain Woodard and won 40 games that are plucked to end the last in the seco season. It will be the first time since 2018 that the GameCocks are organizing for regionally, which was also the last time they spent to Super Regional.

“If you look at South Carolina, they have 17 top 25 wins and that was the key in that area,” NCAA Softball Committee chairman Kurt McGuffin told ESPN. “They went on all year round and challenged themselves. Six of those top 25 victories were no more than conference, so we like to see teams where the non -conference and conference schedule are really a challenge.”

If the GameCocks reach the second weekend of the tournament, they can be confronted with a UCLA team with advantage of delivery. De Bruins received the number 9 seed after 49-10 season, and this late season marks the first time since 2016 that UCLA has not been a top-eight seed. De Bruins are a powerhouse in College Softball, with eight World Series offers since 2015.

Alabama was the last SEC team that recorded a national seed and was closed 15th to organize a regional of the opening weekend. It is the 20th consecutive season that the Crimson Tide has received a top-16 seed in the turbine. However, they have a regional challenging pod that includes a few 40-win teams in Virginia Tech and Belmont. The Hokies and Tide met in February and split two games in Tuscaloosa.

In the meantime, Belmont is reinforced with one of the best pipes in the country in Maya Johnson, who leads the nation in Strikeouts with 343. Belmont is on Virginia Tech at 3:30 pm et on Friday on ESPN+.

Other regional intrigue -matchups there are a between North Carolina and Ohio State in Knoxville, Tennessee. In the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2019, the Tar Heels are led by the leader of the Nation in RBIs in Kat Rodriguez, while the Buckeyes Argulay have the most explosive attack in the country because they lead the sport in house with 137.

UNC and Ohio State meet at 4 p.m. on Friday on ESPNU. The winner between the Tar Heels and the Buckeyes is likely to be confronted with Tennessee and Seccher of the Year Karlyn Pickens, who is in the era of the second place with 0.92.
