It is a week until the NFL design and we are starting to get a clearer picture of what could happen on Thursday. Predicting the first round is always the message of a fool, because it apparently blows everything we thought – but that did not stop us from gathering the information we hear.

More Quarterbacks will go in the 1st than you think
For the most part of this process, the assumption was that Cam Ward and Sheders would go into the top 10, and it would wait a long time to view the name of another QB. That has changed last week or so.
Jaxson Dart was the first Rounder to go to Lot, but he was accompanied by Jalen Milroe and possibly even Louisville’s Tyler Shegh, who could sneak in to the back-end of the Crub round with a QB-Neededy team that back in the first handles.
This is not a great QB class, but Awakening leads to predictable things – so don’t be shocked when we see four quartbacks taken in the first round.
Pass -Rosers are going to domadate the first round
2024 was the year of the first round of Quarterback. Three passers -by – Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels and Drake Maye – came from the board in that order to kick off the first round. Three more quarterbacks joined them in JJ McCarthy, Bo Nix and Michael Penix Jr., who mark a new record for the position.
This year it is about players who are responsible for dismissing on Sunday.
While the Quarterback group has sent questions past Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders, Pass Rusher is a different deep and talented group, with possibly seven or more edges that come on the first night of the design of the board. Abdul Carter is probably top-three selection, and there is a serious buzz about Jalon Walker who comes from the board within the first five picks, perhaps on the New England Patriots at number 4.
Those are not the only pass rushers mocked in the first round. Mykel Williams from Georgia, Shemar Stewart from Texas A&M, Mike Green van Marshall, James Pearce Jr. From Tennessee and Donovan Ezeiraku from Boston College are also popular choices in the first round.
Nic Scourton from Texas A&M could also sneak in the first 32 picks.
Expect a lot of pass Rushers to hear from the board on the first night of the NFL design of 2025.
Carolina at No. 8 can be a pivot point for the design
The primary need of the Panthers is Pass Rush -Help, and it looks increasingly likely that Carolina Jalen could miss Walker at number 8 and push them into the second of Pass Rushers.
Their choice happens to be just before the QB-Needy New Orleans Saints, who would do that Love For Shedeur Sanders (possibly even Jaxson Dart) to be there on their choice. This leads to a different great opportunity to give Subson to jump to Carolina’s choice to land a QB, where the Steelers are a team to look at, or possibly even a subsiments such as the giants who take a big step up.
The trade market for players is quiet … too quiet
At the moment there is not much buzz about veterans who are traded, and that gives the feeling that something can really jump on tap evening. The players to watch here would be Bengals by Trey Hendrickson, Dolphins CB Jalen Ramsey and Wild Card in Vikings Wr Jordan Addison.
These are three players who would attract a lot of interest from the right team if the board did not break how a team hoped.
