Angel Reese injury clouds her return to WNBA

Angel Reese had an excellent Rookie season with the Chicago Sky and broke records for the longest series of Double-Double competitions and the rebound record of the WNBA’s Single season. Reese has No. 7 Generally prepared by the Sky and has adapted well to the physicality of the WNBA, while she still improves her game to match the competition and style of her team. While the air missed the play -offs, the season of Reese ended earlier when she insured her wrist. She was eventually operated on to repair hairline fracture in that wrist after the WNBA season.

Her season that ended early, Reese ended her Rookie season on average 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game.

She recently started on time to start the 3-on-3 season of Unvervaled in January, so Rose Basketball Club would win the first championship of the competition. Reese also remembers the first 20-20 match of the competition, scored 22 points and took 21 rebounds against the Lunar Owls and Napheeesa Collier. While Rose made and won the champion match, the unparalleled season of Reese also ended early when she hit the hand and left Miami.

Unparalleled has never specified what the example of her injury was, nor did the Chicago Sky update the status of Reese. With a training camp from less than a week, that is certainly on the road. Anyway, Reese, you are unable to finish bi -smoke seasons in the Wnba and unparalleled because of these injuries, whether they are connected or not.

If Reese can start the WNBA season with Chicago on time, the goal is to play the entire season without an injury. She has the chance to make a HGE -jump in her skills this year, given the glimpse of the glimpses that were shown in unparalleled. Her ability to score under the basket, use opportunities in the second chance and defending were all emphasis in Miami.

However, hand and wrist injuries can be difficult, especially in view of the fact that Reese already needed surgery. For comparison, I have treated Scottie Barnes and the Raptors for the last star of the stars as a basketball journalist established in Toronto, who is subject to a slightly different but still similar break at the end of the NBA 2023-2024. He also underwent an operation and recovered on time to play at the start of the NBA season 2024. But around February -March I again insulted his hand, still Uble to play, but with noticeable struggles. At the end of the season, Barnes stated that his hand would be numb, making it difficult for him to grab the basketball well.

Again, this is clearly not exactly the same scenario, but it is a reminder that injuries can also linger.

While we are waiting to see what Chicago relates to Reese’s impressive status prior to the training camp, the focus focuses on the development of heaven. She Ford -head coach Teresa Weatherpoon after the WNBA season 2024, her first with the team. The new coach of the team is Tyler Marsh, lustfully coached under Beck Hammon on the Las Vegas Aces and has a track record of developing players.

In a ranging unique year in the WNBA (given that the majority of the competition after this season goes to the free desk), heaven seems to have focused the efforts of this year on mentorship. In Courtney Vandersloot they grab an experienced guard, together with trade for Ariel Atkins. Kia Nurse is another proven veteran who has just finished an excellent season at Athletes Unlimited. Rebecca Allen will also offer a lot of great mentorship to young wings.

On the other hand, the sky prepared sub -perspectives in Hailey van Lith, Ajsa Sivka, Aicha Coulibaly and Maddy Westbeld. Although this team may not compete title, they can continue to develop their core for the future.

The big question about the development of Angel Reese in year two will be the opportunity to stay healthy. If she does, she will continue to grow Indo, one of the most excitation young prospects of the WNBA.
