The victory of Oscar Piastri in the Bahrain Grand Prix made him the first repeated winner of the Formula 1 season 2025.
It also interviewed him in second place in the F1 driver’s championship, only three points from the leader.
His teammate, Lando Norris.
The McLaren -Duo has been impressive this season, where Norris won the Australian Grand Prix to open the season, and Piestri achieved those victors from both the Chinese Grand Prix and now the Bahrain Grand Prix. While Norris has a podish finish this season in every Grand Prix, which brings his total to 77 points to the young campaign, Piastri’s few victories have him on 74 points.
But to hear the two drivers tell, this is exactly what they are allowed to go into the season.
“I mean, I thought it started from Melbourne, to be honest,” said Piaastri in the FIA press conference Appter de Bahrain Grand Prix, when asked him or Sunday marked the “start of the real battle” between him and Norris. “But yes, it’s still so early.
“Oscar’s did well, to be honest.
Both drivers sounded enthusiastic about the battle for eating, while they also gained that there are other challengers from the whole net.
“I think it was to be a tight fight. Make life difficult for others,” added Piastri. “But yes, I think it will be a tight year, sure. And I think as long as we have the best car, it will be tight between Lando and me.”
“And I am sure we will have more later this year, where I think we are both enthusiastic,” said Norris. “So as a team we have to keep working hard to keep ourselves in front of us. Besta, I am sure we would rather have it if it is me and him – between us and nobody else. As a team we prefer. Forget that the competition is close by.
“Yes, we have the best car on the grid and things like this, but one error – and I paid the price yesterday. One tenth and I have been second on the schedule today, so it’s frustrating,” Norris continued. “But it’s close and it’s competitive, and I think that’s great for the sport. But we should continue to work hard as a team. I don’t think we’ve ever let that thought go – with how close [Verstappen] On pole, with George [Russell] Yesterday only one and a half and half a discount. It is easy not to do a perfect round and it is not still on the post. It’s not like we can just cruise around and everything is groovy. So we have to keep working hard and I think we are enthusiastic about the competition between us. “
The nearest title fight between teammates in F1 history in 1984 when Niki Lauda teammate Alain Prost held for his third and final driver’s championship with only a half -tint, 72 to 71.5 points. (The Monaco Grand Prix, ran in wet conditions, lasted only 31 laps, and half points were handed out).
For which team did the two raised?
McLaren.
Could history repeat itself this year?
We do not yet know the fear of that question, but the two divers from McLaren certainly believe that it is positive.
