Augusta, g. -We are at the start of the moving day of the Masters Tournament and the 36-hole leaderboard is full of stars, big champions and well-known names.
Justin Rose, who is sturdy on Thursday at 7 -Slow 65, Teeledo to a 1 -and 71 on Friday morning but still keeps the lead at 8 -in general. But his three-shot benefit from Thursday has become a slim. Can the 44-Yare-Old Englishman continue to place the Blanke Leaderboards family in Augusta National? That is one of the urgent questions of the third round.
Reigning our open winner Bryson Deschambeau fired a 68 on Friday, his second consecutive round in the 60s now a few sub-70 rounds so far. Deschambeau is a blow behind Rose on 7-end and after his dand, he summarized his day and the tournament so far: Perfect:
“What golf is about,” said Dechambeau.
“Very enthusiastic for the weekend. I have many great names above that and I look forward to an abundant wave test.”
Indeed, this tournament is what Golf is all about. Fun and excitement, but also challenging and intense, all fit in with the invoicing for how the masters have taken place so far – and we can only hope that this will pass on the last 36 hols. But consider what this classification looks like now, we can only assume that that will be the case.
Sitting a blow behind Dechambeau is Rory McIlroy, who shoots at 66 hours on Friday to go back in the discussion. McIlroy remained patient during his second round, who helped him make a second nine charge and post the lowest round of the day.
“We have 36 holes to go, vray tough golf course,” said McIlroy.
“Everything can happen. You know, and the only thing I focused on is trying to hit a good T -shirt in the Fairway on the first hole tomorrow.
Also on 6 -und is the Canadian Corey Conners, who joined McCilroy in the penultimate combination on Saturnay afternoon. The former striking Kent State has three top 10’s in Augusta National Thourhout its career, but hopes to do better than that weekend.
“Never like to stay too far for myself, but it would be – it is a big problem to win Majors, especially the Masters Tournament. Probablay the largest golf tournament in the world [Weir] Win in 2003, “said Conners.
“And it’s an exciting opportunity, and just try to have fun, and we’ll see what happens during the weekend.”
And then of course is perhaps the scariest of all: Scottie Scheffler, the best player in the world and the defending champion, is at 5 -below par, behind with three with three. But Scheffler did not have his best stuff with him on Friday, perhaps because of the winds that turned off when the afternoon progressed.
“Golf is a funny game. It’s a daily thing. [On Thursday] I felt really sharp. [Friday] Not so sharp. Can the conditions have contributed to this? I know for sure, “said Scheffler.
“It was absolutely much harder to touch the ball where you were today, just because the wind was windy from EventyWhere. Your expectations manage yourself around the course.”
Englishman Tyrrell Hatton, Irish Shane Lowry and Masters Rookie Matt McCarty are also at 5 -under par, all hoping to win Esir Granst Green Jackets. Hatton and Lowry certainly have the game to do, but they keep their e -mails when checking for these complicated green complexes? Or Couccarty will be the first debutant to win a green jacket since Fuzzy Zoerer in 1979?
Who knows. But the only thing we know is that Saturday will be fun again – what Golf is all about.
