Last chance qualification potential
5:40: Absolutely hilarious scenes on FOX Sports while cameras pick up Josef Newgarden who get his frustration from the expression of his frustration of no chance of qualifying. At one point, Newgarden plays it on the FOX Sports cameras, while he is standing in parallel at the back when Rinus Veekay qualifies in his first attempt in the last chance.
5:37: Jacob Abel’s first qualifying run checks on 227.112, which is far from the pace of Boch Andretti and Armstrong. Abel Slots at the moment in third place.
5:30: Marco Andretti puts four strong laps together, with an average of 229,741, which comes to the top of the speed cards here in the last chance.
5:25: Armstrong goes a benchmark of 229,091, which is now the play to beat.
Reminder: This session must take 60 minutes. Drivers can make multiple attempts in a qualification of four laps during the last chance.
5:21: The last chance that qualification starts. For one of the drivers, Marcus Armstrong, today is a chance to be APHSH in practice in Rebound yesterday. Armstrong first tracks down in the No. 66 Meyer Shank Racing Honda.
Four Hondas will participate in this session.
Quick 12 qualifying motions
5:06: Here is video of Bush Cindric and Indycar Technical Director Kevin Blanch who spoke with FOX Sports:
5:01: Tim Cindric tells Fox Sports that “It’s a shame that we have not given our boys the chance to go for it.” Storage is that the Power car has been passed on by the inspection, but Newgarden failed on the basis of seam at the back of his car. The team believed that the power was likely to fail on a re-inspectors that the components were the same on Bush cars, so they also pulled electricity out of line.
4:48: Alex Palou does enough, with a sign of 231,800. The championship leader is on to the Firestone Fast Six.
4:45: Team Penske President Tom Cindric will address the media in five minutes with regard to Newgarden and Power.
4:43: Pato O’Ward jumps to P2 with a sign of 232.186, making him the fastest Chevrolet on the grid. That books a place in the Firestone Fast Six, but also eliminates teammate Christian Lundgaard.
4:38: Veteran Scott Dixon book a place in the Firestone Fast Six with a number of 231,971. That is good for the second, behind only rosenqvist. Rosenqvist, Dixon, Shwartzman and Sato have left for the Firestone Fast Six, with only Pato O’ward and Alex Palou to make an attempt. Malukas and Lundgaard are currently on the bubble.
4:32: Rookie Robert Shwartzman, who for the first time on an oval racet, has booked to spot in the Fast Six, because his average of 232.008 jumps Paal P2 with free drivers. A hug development for Shwartzman and Prema Racing
4:29: David Malukas pumps in a run with four laps with an average of 231,599, which pushes him in third place behind Rosenqvist and Sato.
Commentators on FOX Sports report that both Newgarden and Power are officially out of Fast 12. That means that we have an All-Pepenke fourth row of McLaughlin, Newgarden and Power.
4:24: Felix Rosenqvist Rockets to the top with an average of 232,523, and his fourth round was the news. A huge run of Rosenqvist.
4:20: Newgarden has also taken itself out of the line, and FOX Sports is that both Newgarden car and the Power car have failed pre-qualifying technical inspections in advance.
4:19: Takuma Sato jumps to the top of the speed cards with an effort of 231,686.
4:15: Marcus Ericsson ends with a figure of 231.014, which throws him behind Londgaard. But the big news is that Bill Power has just been pulled out of the line, which could mean that he may not try a qualifying run. Stay informed.
4:11: Lundgaard sets a benchmark of 231,360 mph, which is the time that the rest of the 12 will chase.
4:09: Christian Lundgaard van Arrow McLaren is first finished.
4:08 There are only 11 drivers in Fast 12. The crash of Scott McLaughlin in practice earlier today hit him out of the session.
