Memphis Guard Ja Morant does not play in Game 4 of the Grizzlies’ series against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday while he still has to deal with a hip continusion of game 3.
Interim -coach Tuomas Iisalo confirmed the absence of Morant during his availability of Prace me less than two hours before the competition. Iisalo said that Morant had avoided serious injury.
Morant has been mentioned as doubtful since the first injury report on Friday. Memphis will prevent them from being swept the first round in the Western Conference without one of the biggest attacking weapons.
Morant was in a quick break with teammate Scotty Pips Jr. Leave in the second quarter when he jumped and was hit by a stumbling Luguentz Dort. The contact led MORANT to hit the court without breaking his Val.
The piece was assessed but considered a common mistake on Dort. Morant started to the dressing room, but came back to shoot the free throws – in case he could return to the game – both missed. The Grizzlies left that by a 67-40 lead, an advantage that had 29 points earlier.
Morant did not return, the Grizzlies were surpassed in the second half with 63-31 and completed the second largest collapse in the NBA Playoff history.
