Latest NFL Draft rumors include a surprise first-round QB and the Cowboys’ WR debate

A week of tonight, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will run over a stage outside Lambeau Field and officially open the NFL version of 2025, with the Tennessee Titans on the clock.

Miami Quarterback Cam Ward is the overwhelming favorite to be the first player. What happens next is the gamble.

Let’s dive in the last rumors.

Tyler Shaugh A first round pick?

We have previously have the phenomenon of the first round of quail-back-risk discussion, so it’s a story as old as time. As the design approaches one and more than one subtimation, quarterbacks are described as a potential first round option.

WHY? The allure of the fifth year option is perhaps the biggest reason, in combination with the general interest of the position.

The newest quarterback to generate First-Control Buzz? Louisville Passer Tyler Shaugh. In the foot for the Office League website, Insider Tom Pelissero identified five potential first round ‘Surprises’, starting with Shaugh.

“Shegh has himself pushed the next level with Shedeur Sanders, Jaxson Dart and Jalen Milroe and many scouts and coaches rank him above at least one of those more sharpened players,” writes Pelissero.

There are subjects, starting with his injury history. Shegh suffered a broken collarbone in 2021, to shoulder injury in 2022, and a broken leg in 2023. He is an older prospect – he is 26 early in his Rookie season – and spent seven seasons at the university.

Still, as Pelissero notes, only one team is needed, and there are things to like from his game. “Shegh is older (25), and both the injury volume and its impact on his playing style.” He is perhaps the easiest of the entire QB group to play in the NFL Now. Do you have the chance to be a bona fide, long -term start in the pros? The only thing needed is a team to buy and make a shot on Shaugh in round 1. ”

Again, we have seen this song and dance before. But only one team is needed.

Other potential round 1 surprises

In addition to Shegh, Pelissero contained four other prospects that could come from the board as’ surprises’ of the first round: ‘Ucla Linebacker Carson Schwesinger, Georgia Center Jared Wilson, Ohio State Dt Tyle

That is the least surprisingly just Egbuka. This is an intrigue WR class, but although excited by talent in Columbus Egbuka Caough 205 passes for 2,868 Yards and 24 TouchDowns, which sets a new state record from OHIO for receptions.

South, you could claim that the recipients around him, such as Marvin Harrison Jr., Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and recently Jeremiah Smith-Egbuka had more opportunities available for him. But for a team that has to tackle WR in the first round, I can be a very intrigue option.

Especially a team with a quarterback with which Egbuka plays at the university …

Steelers locked up on a DT?

As the Saga about the plans of Aaron Rodgers before 2025 – with the latest rumors that the veteran Quartback may simply go away from the game – many believe that the Pittsburgh Steelers should appeal to Quarterback in the first round with their choice.

But Coud Pittsburgh is going in a different direction?

According to radio presenter Andrew Fillipponi, the Steelers look at the line of defense with their choice at number 21 and have locked up on Oregon DT Derrick Harmon:

Source: Derrick Harmon has emerged as the “clear favorite” to be the Steelers 1st round. Quote: “I am the total package.” Art Rooney II is very pronounced about stalkers that tackle D-Line. Subject that did not happen in the free desk. Stay informed. pic.twitter.com/kduiifelaip

Harmon also visited the Steelers as one of their top-30 pre-Draft, and the Oregon product is considered one of the top players in the design, while consensus fake concepts mention him in the first round.

Cowboys choose WR, but which one?

Wide receiver remains a popular choice for the Dallas Cowboys in Mock concepts, and with good reason. During the NFL League meetings last month, Stephen Jones indicated that the team is looking for an “explosive” option with Ceedee Lamb. “We are still open to looking at a really explosive number two that could upgrade us,” said Jones. “But as I said, I love our room and certainly love the players we currently have.”

But who could be at number 12?

Arizona WR Tetairoa McMillan is a common choice for the cowboys at that location, but there is another option for Dallas: Texas Wr Matthew Golden. Marcus Mosher van The 33rd team Both McMillan and Golden grew up as options for the cowboys and concluded that it would be a “small shock” if Golden was not the choice for Dallas at number 12 if he is still on the board.

For the record, I would choose McMillan in that scenario, but Mosher is a lot

Two veteran te on the way?

Can two veteran be tight ends for the design to the movement?

That’s the scenario that drove past FOX Sports NFL -Sinsider Jordan Schultz, starting with Baltimore Ravens Tight End Mark Andrews. Like many brands, Baltimore GM Eric Decosta spoke extensively about Andrews this week and was not in the context of his future with the ravens.

“I never know what will happen, and I never wanted to say this,” said Decosta. “But I can tell you this: Mark Andrews is a warrior. There is always a predictability with the design – you just never know.”

Andrews comes from a campaign, one that ended for him with Buble A Fumble and a critical drop leaves against the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Division Round. He also goes in the last year of his contract, and the team would obtain $ 11 million in cap -space that they would move him in a deal.

That is, as Schultz notes, similar to the situation with Dallas good with the Philadelphia Eagles. Goedert is also in the last year of his deal, and teams have already started calling about his availability in an exchange, including the New York Giants.

What is easier for Mike for the ravens and the Eagles is the fact that this is a fascinating too -class, starting with Tyler Warren from Penn State and Colston Loveland from Michigan. Both players expect them to come from the board in the first round, together with perhaps LSU in Mason Taylor.

And the ravens also probably have to build Isaiah in the position.

Stay informed.

Georgia -backlog that keeps private training

For a few Georgia defenders who can get from the board in the first round, they will hold a private training for teams on Thursday. According to ESPN analyst Jordan Reid, Jalon Walker and Mykel Williams will run through positional exercises in the indoor facility of the school on Thursday:

Williams you are mocked in the first round this concept season and land everywhere, from the Detroit Lions at number 28 to the Carolina Panthers at number 8. As far as Walker is concerned, you have seized his stock rise when the Trek is approaching, where Sub believed that he could be number 4 for the New England Patriots.
