The Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles did well, okay, good at the NFL version of 2025.
So say the so-challenged concept experts?
Try Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey.
The Eagles selected safety Andrew Mukuba from Texas in the second round, giving him an inside of the road to replace CJ Gardner-Johnson, which was traded weeks after the Super Bowl victory.
The selection was champion on social media by McConaughey, the actor and note Longchorns fan. Mukuba is a native and former four -star recruit in Austin, Texas who started 31 games for three seasons for Clemson before switching to Texas.
“It is really difficult to find cover -having and boys who have the opportunity to play on the lock, play in the middle of the field, has natural instincts, play the ball,” said Eagles general director Howie Roseman. “He has ball skills. He plays with Mentity and this guy – he plays a football brand from Eagles.
“I think for us, the value fits the need there.”
Mukuba, who was born in Zimbabwe and said on Saturday that he was going to Drew, said he had several conversations with Pro Football Hall by Famer Brian Dawkins, who spent most of his career at the Eagles. He noted that Dawkins remained a popular part in Clemson, South Carolina – just as good as Mukuba’s new house.
“I know they love him here too,” said Mukuba.
Mukuba had at least one Oher Eagles connection -he was roommates for a season at Clemson with Eagles -linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
Philadelphia Bulldogs
The Eagles keep former Georgia Bulldogs in stock. They added Linebacker Smael Mondon Jr. in the fifth round.
Mondon, who had fired racing and reckless rows against him last year, joins the family who submits faces on the Eagles. Philadelphia already has Jalen Carter, Lewis Cine, Jordan Davis, Nakobe Dean, Azeez Ojularari, Kelee Ringo and Nolan Smith from Georgia.
The Eagles gave defensive coordinator Vic Fangio many rookies to work with. In the fourth round they selected defensive T1 Robinson, to five -year -old starter in Nebraska. In the fifth they took UCF -Cornerback Mac McWilliams.
New QB
The Eagles are set on Quarterback with Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts and Back -up Tanner McKee. They added depth when they set Syracuse’s Kyle McCord in the sixth round (181st General).
McCord, from nearby Mount Laurel, New Jersey, led the FBS with 4.779 Yards last season, a total that the ACC single-season record of Deshaun Watson broke. He made the all-bowl team of the AP after passing 453 Yards and five touchdowns in a victory over the state of Washington in the Holiday Bowl.
Before that, McCord threw 380 yards and three touchdowns such as the Oranje Beat Dan-No. 6 Miami (Fla.), 42-38, in the regular season finale, which hits the hurricanes from the acce competition.
McCord started his career in the state of Ohio. I succeeded for 3,170 Yards and 24 TouchDowns for the Buckeyes in 2023.
