Washington Nationals world Jorge López has been suspended for three games and a fine for throwing Pittsburgh’s Andrew McCutchen, Major League Baseball announces Thursday.
López was executed from the Pirates against the Pirates from Wednesday evening after a high pitch near McCutchen’s head led to the Benys that were briefly released in the seventh inning.
López hit the previous Slagman, Bryan Reynolds, with a throw before he looked at McCutchen, who had to be hit on the ground to be hit by a 92 MPH ball to his head.
The right -handed person has applied an appeal to the suspension, which would start on Thursday, but will not make any efforts until that process has been done.
National Manager Dave Martinez receives a fine and one-game suspension due to the incident.

While the referees gathered to discuss what happened during Wednesday’s game, McCutchen and López started to argue, making banking banks empty. Pirates Outfielder Tommy Pham was also seen shouting while he was back by teammate Omneil Cruz.
