The chargers flourished expectations in year 1 of the Jim Harbaugh was by winning 11 games and making the late season. Unfortunately, the big momentum of the year was abruptly put into the loss of the team for the Texans in Houston in the wildcard round that was emphasized by a disturbing lack of Pass-Catcher production around Justin Herbert.
Again, Herbert was asked to play Heldenbal to be only repeatedly abandoned. A Run game Wold has helped to end the early drives of the team in the End Zone -Intentad to settle on a few field goals. Eleven the Texans rolled in the second quarter, it was all she wrote. Those small moments – whether it is about finishing and grabbing the momentum for yourself or giving away – always are always correct.
I could continue (after all, I am the Chargers -here at SB Nation), but I will save everyone the monologue. Based on how the board fell through the first 21 picks, I decided that the chargers are going to walk with the best player available at number 22 and in my modest opinion is that North Carolina is running back Omarion Hampton.
22.) Los Angeles Chargers: Omarion Hampton, RB, North Carolina
Analysis: The chargers have registered this free desk period a lot by a low risk in an attempt to work out the schedule and possibly fill their remarkable gaps with Avege Avege players that they think they can be a coachet and ultimately surpass their contract. This happened in 2024 with boys as a defensive Tackle Poona Ford, Cornerback Kristian Fulton and Safety Elia Molden. All three played so well for the bolts that each earned a Muy larger contract for the 2025 season, with the bolts or elsewhere.
General manager Joe Hortiz and head coach Jim Harbaough have set up to take the best player available at number 22.
In this mock the chargers will unfortunately miss the best defensive tight ends. Both still remain around the list of their needs. Since that is the case, the chargers are bent in the Harbaugh style of football as standard by picking the best remaining running on the board in Hampton.
I know that this choice may seem superfluous, but the chargers want to place the entire run game on the shoulders of Najee Harris. Although he has been nothing but sustainable in four pro seasons, the Harbaugh jumps the chance to take a prototypical back with an elite mix of size (221 pounds), speed (4.46 40 time) and athletics (38 “vertical, 10’10” broad jump). Hampton fits exactly in the Power Run schedule of the Chargers, where his one-sliced, Downhill-Slash-Hardloopstijl will flourish.
With the addition of the right guard Mehki Becton and Center Andre James in Free Agency, the chargers want to run, run, run football and want a stable of backs that can make the plan live.
Top five remaining players:
- James Pearce Jr., Edge, Tennessee
- Luther Burden, WR, Missouri
- Donovan Ezeiruaku, Edge, Boston College
- EMEKA EGBUKA, WR, OHIO State
- Kelvin Banks Jr., OT, Texas
It is surprising to enter the 23rd pick, it is surprising to Kelvin Banks Jr. Still to be seen on the board, because he is a consensus top-through offensive tackle in the classroom and usually those players in Tier 1 of that position are now over. With the additional packers, it is unlikely that Banks is the choice, but I would not be surprised to see that one of our best remaining defending front seven players are going, because Green Bay certainly needs the recovery of their true one.
