NFL mock draft 2025: Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Malaki Starks, DB, UGA

This season, the Buccaneers signed a broad recipient Chris Godwin to ensure that their attacking core returned around Quarterback Baker Mayfield. The Bors have made the late season in back-to-back for years and they probably want to take the next step in 2025. Keeping their best players in the team is a good start of that goal.

Defensively, the BUCs ended in the lower half of the competition in the past two seasons. Ideally, Tampa Bay wants to find a way for bush sides of the ball to be Aberage next season.

With that in mind, Mike Kiwak from BUCs Nation has chosen to use the 19th general choice in the SB Nation Community Mock Draft on Georgia Safety Malaki Starks.

19.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Malaki Starks, S, Georgia

Kiwak: The Buccaneers need a viable starter at Safety, where Jordan Whitehead was said after a disappointing meeting, or Slothoek, which can be treated by Standute 2024 Rookie Tykee Smith when he is moved to safety. The preparation of Malaki Starks can solve Eithher issue, so he is familiar with Bemt safety and nickel responsibilities and can create a danting trio with Smith and Antoine Winfield, Jr. To allow head coach Todd Bowles Supreme Versatility in how he uses different coverage.

Analysis: Starks is our top safety in the design and the BUCs have succeeded in landing him with the 19th pick in the design.

One of the more versatile defense players in the classroom, Starks can play several places for the defense of Todd Bowles. As Kiwak mentioned above, Starks has experience playing everywhere in the secondary as an instinctive and Rangy playmaker. He is excellent in playing the ball on the third level and just as reliable and stopping on the floor. Although he does not offer a huge doll behind his pads, I am a Sicky Tackler who knows how to get ball carriers down and minimize meters after contact.

The BUCs must build the defense into a machine that can bring the ball back to Mayfield, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin as quickly as possible. Adding Starks may help make that.

Top five remaining players:

  1. Jahdae Barron, CB, Texas
  2. James Pearce Jr., Edge, Tennessee
  3. Luther Burden, WR, Missouri
  4. Donovan Ezeiruaku, Edge, Boston College
  5. EMEKA EGBUKA, WR, OHIO State

Many good players are left on the board!

The bears are the next after strongly out of the season where they are over the attacking line in an attempt to make life a lot of quarterback Caleb Williams. Will the new head coach Ben Johnson continue to add to the protective details of his quarterback? Shall I continue to add to Williams’ group Pass catchers? Or will he switch his attention to the oher -side of the ball?
