The first Triple header of the Formula 1 season 2025 can be closed this weekend, with the Saudi-Arab Grand Prix, and there is no shortage of storylines to discuss.
Let us not waste time and dive into it immediately.
A new dynamic at McLaren
Lando Norris entered the 2025 F1 season and considered the favorite for the driver’s championship and McLaren was dragged to repeat as Constructors Champions.
Although a dynamic remains the same, a new script has emerged when it comes to the title of the drivers.
Oscar Piastri became the first repeated winner of the young season last weekend, with a command -up performance at the Bahrain Grand Prix. The third -year driver did not set a foot for almost the entire weekend, took the pole position and took the checkered flag for George Russell and Norris to guarantee the victory. The victory pulled Piastri on top of the rankings of the drivers within three points from his teammate Norris and made him the new favorite for the title in the heads of many.
Where Dosse two teammates go from here?
To hear Norris and Piastri tell it, this is a story that they started the season. Both drivers spoke at Lengh in the FIA press conference after the Bahrain Grand Prix how they expected title fight among them, with other drivers who certainly played a role. In this fight, Russell came up quietly as a potential spoiler, thanks to a podish finish in three of the four Grands Prix this year, and one can certainly never count Max Verstappen.
But at the moment the McLaren teammates are the top dogs in this fight. How does Piastri deal with his new status as the driver who considered the favorite? How does Norris bundle back after a rater mixed result for him in Bahrain, and how does he deal with this new dynamic?
Both drivers are fast, the MCL39 is incredibly fast, and this fight becomes a story for the ages.
Can Red Bull find an answer?
In the aftermath of a difficult Bahrain Grand Prix for Verstappen and Red Bull, the team not only picked up the hospitality room and went to Jeddah.
According to MotorsportRed Bull “held a spontaneous meeting with his most important staff on the circuit to find out the following steps, with attendees, including team boss Christian Horner, adviser Helmut Marko, technical director Pierre Wache and chief engineer Paul Monaghan.”
Marko then spoke with reporters in Bahrain, the state of playing “not accusable” ended for the team.
“It is a different differential day for Red Bull, which is clear to all of us,” Marko told reporters after the Bahrain Grand Prix.
“We must, so possible, get back in the car in the car and also have to work standards such as a pit stop. The car is not the fastest and the pit stops not working. That is not acceptable.”
With Verstappen finished sixth and Yuki Tsunoda took his first points for the senior team with a ninth place, Red Bull ensured the finish of a double points.
Their first of the season, and the first for the team since the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix.
According to reports, Red Bull is planning to arrive at a large upgrade package at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix:
But that race is in May, then the Saudi -Arab Grand Prix this weekend and the Miami Grand Prix. If they have a lot to use that upgrade package to chase McLaren in the Building’s Championship, and for jamming to close the gap to Norris and Piastri for him, they must protect every possible point over you manage you
And they need that upgrade package to work.
An exciting summaries of midfield fight along the Red Sea
Midfield fight is a fascinating undercard during an F1 season.
But this year’s midfield fight will be a battle Royale.
Thanks to an Auble-Points, a non-pensioner results in that vaulted in fifth place in the rankings of the Building Championship, a point for Williams. But the gap from the fifth to tenth is rather slim:
Haas: 20 points
Williams: 19 points
Aston Martin: 10 points
Vcarb: 7 points
Alpine: 6 points
Sauber: 6 points
Those pointed totals also mean that after four racing weekends, each team scored several points this season. At this point last year, three teams – Williams, Alpine and Sauber – had to secure another point:
Midfield fight is fascinating to look, but if there is a team in this group that can have an advantage this week, it is Haas. The reason? Oliver Bearman made his F1 debut on the difficult Jeddah Clorniche Circit a seasonal sauce, and although it came in a Ferrari, it gives him a leg on his fellow -smokeies while the schedule goes to Saudi -Arabia.
Can Mercedes and George Russell maintain their consistent?
Is Mercedes the most surprising team of the Young 2025 season?
McLaren’s strong start was expecteda, and although Red Bull’s struggles are a bit of a surprise, Verstappen still has one Grand Prix victory under his belt, and there are expectations that the team could turn things around.
But the silver arrows have been a story of consistentcy this season. Russell ended up in points in every event this year, including for Podish Finish in three of the four Grands Prix this year, and Rookie Kimi Antonelli has enjoyed a fantastic start of his F1 career. The Italian driver already has 30 points this season and is sixth in the rankings of the driver championships, two points behind Charles Leclerc … and five points for Lewis Hamilton.
When the season began, the fact that Bi Russell and Antonelli delivered were certainly subject to checking, but the newest paddock rumors indicate that Russell may be close to the paper of a new long-term agreement with the team. Whether that is true or not, can still be seen, but Russell’s Consisse will certainly play well in Brackley this season. “[George] Did it great. I defined the stage for the team, “said Team Main Toto Wolff after his P2 in Bahrain. “I suffered to burn the wire and had to deal with the pressure pedal pressure that changed from corner to corner. To do it without making it was great. He also fed the soft ties well in the latter Stint, was fast when it mattered and defended in the right places to maximize the result.”
The Consistentcy of Russell also made for players in the Champist championship fight while he is fourth, only 14 points behind Norris, and the team is in the second, 58 points behind McLaren only 22 points ahead of Red Bull.
This was almost to dream for Mercedes. Can they keep that roles in Saudi Arabia?
Are you used to Ferrari to the corner?
The there is Ferrari.
Bahrain was the best result of the season for the team, when Charles Leclerc celebrated home with Lewis Hamilton behind him in the fifth. It was a “finding” results according to Ferrari -Baas Frederic Vasseur.
“[W]E scored good points with by Charles and Lewis who did well to come back after a heavy qualification, which produced a strong race that varies, “said Vasseur after the Bahrain Grand Prix.
“We are where we are: McLaren is still one step ahead, but we fought with them in the second stint and we were able to fight with both Mercedes and Red Bulls. Next week.”
The hope in the future begins with Hamilton, who comes to grip life in Ferrari. Hamilton was rather despondent on Saturday the DIFFFIGULT qualifying qualification performance, so he was heard at the team via the radio after Q3 for “not doing work” during the session.
Sunday was to another story, because Hamilton assured his best Grand Prix finish in the red and said after the race that he not only learned a lot, but that he knows what to look for “in the future.
“I learned today to go to destiny today, and as I saw, that middle stint I was really in line with the car and I had the pace and I was forward,” Hamilton said on Sunday.
“I need that at the beginning and the end and I need that to be eligible, so I know what to look for now.”
That is probably music for tifosi ears.
Control the tricky Jeddah Corniche circuit
One of the storylines this week?
The circuit is.
The Jeddah Corniche Circuit is the fastest street circuit in the world, strength challenges for teams and drivers, not only on a single round of the event, but in turn, of which there are many. With 27 corners, the Jeddah Corniche Circuit has the most turns this season, but the sub of that food with amazing speeds. The course has three drs zones, including one that of turn 24 to the hairpin in turn 27, which means that drivers take sub of those turns between the speeds of more than 300 kilometers per hour.
“Jeddah is just an insane Formula 1 -Track -it’s basal monza with walls”, described Mercedes Reserve Frederik Víti, whose first F2 -function -race -winning came in Jeddah, in the media -preacher.
“It gives a driver exactly what they want, the chance to put a racing car on the edge. It is a circuit that really requires precision, especially on the sector one summit. If you take a little too early and cut the wall, that race is over. Don is exaggerated.”
Former Williams driver Logan Sargeant had this to say about the circuit when we spoke for the Saudi Grand Prix from 2024: “It is a great song, but I would lie if we said it was not dangerous. But it is one of that, you know, the adrenaline is a nice job, especially if you do well.”
Which diver will take place in those good rounds this year? We will discover it later this week.
