I know Ball clearly. That is why the general managers listened to me when I listened to potential WNBA cultivation, and that is why all five of the players I emphasized were drawn up as a great and lower runner players. Evidently.
Many of the WNBA-Draftees on Monday were stealing, but the sub of the third round picks in this year’s design were specially intriguing.
Here is a memory of how that round went:
- 26. Serena Sundell (Kansas ST) – Seattle Storm
- 27. JJ Quinly (West Virginia) – Dallas Wings
- 28. Liatu King (Notre Dame) – The Sparks
- 29. Madison Conner (TCU) – Seattle Storm
- 30. Kaitlyn Chen (UConn) – Golden State Valkyries
- 31. Aaronette Vonleh (Baylor) – Dallas Wings
- 32. Zaay Green (Alabama) – Washington Mystics
- 33. Yvonne Ejim (Gonzaga) – Indiana Fover
- 34. Jordan Hobbs (Michigan) – Seattle Storm
- 35. Harmoni Turner (Harvard) – Las Vegas Aces
- 36. Taylor Thierry (Ohio State) – Atlanta Dream
- 37. Aubrey Griffin (UConn) – Minnesota Lynx
- 38. Adja Kane (France) – New York Liberty
All Sundell, Chen and Hobbs were players I might have wrote last week. Sindell was invited for the design and had to wait the third round to be prepared, a lot of slipping, but eventually in Seattle countries, where her talent will be noticed. As a master playmaker, the Style of Sundell fits in the basketball brand that plays Seattle.
Chen was another player who was with the design, but in the audience to support her teammate and no. 1 Pick Paige Bueckers. Her teammates celebrated her when Herm was called and she was looking to take a picture with her sweater, which, to say the least, looked a bit shocked. Chen stood out during the UCONN championship run in the March Madness Tournament and showed her versatility as Point Guard and her ability to stay cool under pressure. She gets a shot in a brand new Valkyries team where she has a good chance, as every third-rounder ever does to make the roster of the expansion team.
Hobbs is a player who is also broken in the late season and scored a career-high 28 points in her second to most cost Michigan in the tournament. She can shoot the three-ball, pass and is a hard worker. She is also a motor, grit and influences the game in different ways. Training camp in Seattle is a great place for her to impress the WNBA.
Other players in this third round who can be interesting to follow are Aubrey Griffin, Harmoni Turner and Yvonne Ejim.
Griffin was another player who was in the audience while he was set up. Another teammate of Paige Bueckers, Griffin played SX seasons at UConn to keep the impurity seasons afterwards. She may not have reclaimed that much in the late year, but the time of the time Griffin steps on the floor, she finds ways to have an impact on these rebounds, defense and other crowds.
Harmoni Turner won De Becky Hammon Mid-Mojor Player of the Year Award on the way to bring Harvard an Ivy League championship and an NCAA tournament berth this season. The term “nerds can also hoop”, cooperating, “is Turner a bucket. She had several 40-point competitions this season and will become members of the Las Vegas Aces for training camp.
Yvonne Ejim is an international player from Canada who played at the University for Gonzaga and has a lot of experience. She played for the Canadian national team at every level and has put that international experience into her game. Ejim is a 2x West Coast Conference Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year in 2024. She helped Canada in 2023 at the Fiba Women’s Americanup.
With the WNBA continuously to expand and create more schedules, more players will get a chance to make schedules, and so these picks from the third round should not be ignored when they think about potential rookies to look out at this season.
