Many coaches can help to fulfill those dreams, but a select number of Haen Elite in having the players in the Cracst Rounst Rounst over the years. In the 2025 NFL Draft, eleven Football Head Coaches college selected at least 20 players in the first round.
The Ryan Day of Georgia’s Kirby Smart and the Ryan Day of Ohio State could soon become a member of that list. Smart has seen 16 of his bulldogs selected in round 1 since he became the head coach in 2016, with Linebacker Jalon Walker, Edge Rusher and Safty Malaki Starks VIing as potential potential Picks in the 2025 NFL version. Day, meanwhile, you have 10 first round picks since you have become the head coach of Ohio State in 2019, with attacking Tackle Josh Simmons, wide receiver Emeka Egbuka, offensive Linovan Jackson, Edge Rusher Jt Tuimolou, Defensive Tyleik of the first Dish of Dish of Dish of Dish of Dish of Dish of Dorms of the first Dormed Dormed Dormed Dormed Dormed Dorm Dish Dorms and Returned Dish of Dish and Returned Dish and Returned Dish and Retanded Dish and Retand’s Dish and Dish, Ronde Dish and Ret Dame Dormed Dish and Dish and Retaal’s Ronde Dish and Ronde Dish, Ronde. this year.
For now, Smart and Day look on the outside. Here are the top 10 coaches in producing the first picks.
Top 10 coaches who have coached the most first round NFL-Picks
T-9. Tom Osborne: 20
While Osborne Nebraska turned into a powerhouse during his 25-year-old Stint (1973-97), he coached many Galls talent over the years. Wide receiver Irving Fryar was the number 1 general choice in the NFL design of 1984 and one of the seven players who was a top-five choice who coached Osborne in Nebraska. Neil Smith was Argulay the best off the couch, with the defensive end who recorded six Pro Bowls after the Chiefs had selected him with the second overall choice in 1988.
T-9. John Cooper: 20
Cooper’s Ohio State teams in the 1990s were loaded with NFL talent and Future Hall of Famers. Defensive Tackle Dan Wilkinson (1994) and attacking Tackle Orlando Pace (1997) were the number 1 general choices in their respective design years. Six more from Cooper’s players in the state of Ohio were selected in the top 10, including Wide Reiversos Joey Galloway and Terry Glenn. Hall of Fame Gua Guardall McDaniel also became a pick in the first round after Cooper him in Arizona State Coachet.
T-9. Larry Coker: 20
Coker coached some of the most NFL-language-infused teams in University Football in Miami. Of course some of those players were picks for the first time. Although he never coached a player who became the number 1 general choice, the first round Picks coached in Miami Pro Football Hall of Famers (Andre Johnson, Ed Reed, Devin Hester). I coached other players by Coker who were selected in the first round, also became Pro Bowlers. In the NFL concept of 2004, six Miami players were drawn up in the first round, which is a draw for the must of one school.
8. Lou Holtz: 21
Holtz’s coaching career is mainly associated with Notre Dame when he helped bring Fighting Irish back to fame in the eighties and nineties, but the national championship-winning coach coached picks at three stops. In Arkansas he helped to make defensive Tackle Dan Hampton the fourth overall choice in the NFL design of 1979. Holtz Defigening at John Abraham, who was the 13th general choice in the 2000 NFL concept, was coached in South Carolina. Of course, most picks came from the first round to coach Holtz during his stint at Notre Dame. Thirteen of his former fighting Irish players were picks in the first round, with Hall of Famer Tim Brown’s head among them.
T-6. John Robinson: 22
In two separate stints as head coach of USC, Robinson coached 22 picks in the first round for 12 seasons. Two of them were number 1 General Picks (RB Rick Bell in 1977, Wr Keyshawn Johnson in 1996), with seven from Robinson’s other USC players who were selected in the top five. The group of players who selected Robinson who were selected in the top five includes Hall of Famers Anthony Munoz and Tony Boselli. Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott was also a pick in the first round coached by Robinson.
T-6. Mack Brown: 22
Brown coached first round picks during his both Stints at UNC and during his reign in Texas. Former Dallas Cowboys Defense End Greg Ellis was taken with the eighth general choice in the 1998 NFL design after playing for Brown, while Drake Maye will probably be the last player coach of Brown to be a first round. Under the former Texas players from Brown, Vince Young was also the third choice in the design, such as Maye. But Ricky Williams, Leonard Davis, Casey Hampton, Roy Williams, Brian Orakpo and Earl Thomas belonged to the players who played for Brown in Texas who were Picks first round and became Pro Bowlers.
5. Urban Meyer: 23
Meyer made the state factors in Florida and Ohio for NFL forecast during his time at every program. With the Gators he helped reggie Nelson, Percy Harvin, Joe Haden and the Pouncy Twins (Maurkice and Mike) to form Picks in the first round. He coached a few more brothers in top three choices in Ohio State, with Joey and Nick Bosa each being a top three pick in their respective design years. Ryan Shazier, Ezekiel Elliott, Taylor Decker, Denzel Ward, Chase Young and Joe Burrow also belong to the group of players who were first round picks after Meyer had coached them at Osu.
4. Woody Hayes: 27
Removing a school may not have a school better than Ohio State, so it is no surprise to see three state coaches in Ohio on this list. Tom Cousineau was the only former player of Hayes who was selected with the number 1 general choice, because the Buffalo Bills de Linebacker first set up in 1979. There were four years in the 1970s when several state players in Ohio were selected in the Cudg.
3. Bobby Bowden: 32
Bowden enjoyed good success during his time in the state of Florida and won two national titles as the multi -year Seminoles became at the helm for more than 25 years. But on the way he got Subd -Help from Selection Framework NFL talent. Dion Sanders was the most prominent player under Bowden who became a first round Pick, but Hall of Famers Derrick Brooks and Walter Jones and triple Pro Bowler Warrick Dunn are on that list under the others.
2. Joe Paterno: 33
Just like Bowden, Paterno coached at one stop to have many picks from the first round and made his program a perennial in the neighborhood to fight. Franco Harris became a Hall of Famer after the Pittsburgh Steelers had selected him with the 13th general pick in the NFL design of 1973. Mike Munchak also became a Hall of Famer after the Houston Oilers took him with the eighth Courtney Brown, who were taken the only former Penn State players.
1. Nick Saban: 52
Saban is the only coach who was able to set a full team of players legitimate who became Picks first round after playing College Football for him. I coached Plaxic Burress to be a first round during his time in Michigan State, with three of his former Spartans players who became selections in the first round. Dwayne Bowe was the most striking player who coached Saban at LSU, who later became a pick of the first connection. Of course, Saban’s time in Alabama is where most people will deal with him. Twenty players Saban coached in Alabama, who were picks in the first round, also became Pro Bowlers, and that does not include Devonta Smith or Joylen Waddle. They were part of the NFL concept of 2021, where Alabama brought the record for the most round picks in a single concept class that year with six.
