Fox News collaborator, Raymond Arroyo, speaks with ‘The Will Cain Show’ of Rome about the choice of Pope Leo XIV.

Where exactly the sports loyalty of Pope Leo XIV has quickly become a conversation issue.

A photo of the new pontiff with a t-shirt of the white socks Pictripe Chicago in the 2005 World Series appeared in the Chicago Sun-Times, which seemed to add more fuel to the debate.

Chosen on Thursday, Cardinal Robert Prevost is the first Pope of the United States in the history of the Catholic Church. The missionary born in Chicago, who took the name of Leo XIV, also attended the University of Villanova near Philadelphia, where he received a degree in Science in 1977.

The Chicago Bears Field Marshal, Caleb Williams, is one of the last figures in the world of sport that evaluates the new Pope. Williams only needed two words to express his apparent emotion: “Daaaaaa Pope,” Hey wrote Thorsday in X.

Williams experienced several rookie season when the Bears stumbled with a 5-12 record. While it is not clear if the new Pope is an avid defender of the Bears, Chicago certainly has many reasons to have hope in 2025.

The Bears hired Ben Johnson as their new chief coach in January. Then, the team made a lot of additions to its list once the NFL free agency period was inaugurated last month. Chicago reinforced its offensive line by acquiring the Drew Dalman Center and guards Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson.

The choice of the new Pope also coincides with a trio of former players from Villanova leading the New York Knicks in his NBA playoff career. It did not take long to appear a photo of the four together on social networks.

The Knicks erased 20 -point deficits in games 1 and 2 winners against the Boston Celtics defense champion in the semifinals of the East Conference, with game 3 ready for Saturday in New York. The Knicks have not won an NBA title since 1973.
