Florida cat escapes animal hospital after neutering, travels 3 miles to get home

The feline fugitive recently decided that it was time to leave an animal hospital in Lakeland, Florida, while it was still recovering after being neutralized. Then, he left his box and climbed a fence.

“I was distressed and disconsolate,” said George’s owner, Bob Beasock, Fox 13.

George the Cat recently decided that it was time to leave an animal hospital in Lakeland, Florida, while he was still recovering after being castrated. Then, he left his box and climbed a fence. (Fox 13)

“George was able to get out of the trap, and literally climbed a dog fence and entered the forest. The Cat Certificate Specialist Joey Lusvardi told the station that cats have evolved to find the way back.

“We believe that a combination of aroma or visual markers and possible geomagnetism is due to a combination of aroma and possible geomagnetism,” which is related to the Earth’s magnetic field, Lusvardi said.

“Contrary to popular belief, cats are very attached to us, so they will want to find the way back home.”
