A 34 -year -old man was arrested Tuesday night in relation to the murders of four people who were found dead earlier in the day in a Bowdoin, Main, Home, authorities said.
The murders seemed to be connected with a series of close road shootings that left three drivers injured, including one critically, shortly after the four bodies were discovered, state police said.
The arrested man was identified by Maine State Police as Joseph Eaton.
Eaton was tasks of two bridges from the regional prison and will make an initial appearance in the Court later in the week, state police said in a press release from Tesday Evening. The State Police did not say at the end of Tuesday night he was detained in relation to the shootings on the road.
CNN has not yet been able to identify a lawyer for Eaton.
“Researchers will work during the night by processing multiple scenes and continue to interview people involved with this incident,” said the state police in the press release.
The police have not shared details about a possible reason in the two incidents and did not share details about the four people found dead at home.
In A statement On Twitter, the governor of Maine, Janet Mills, said: “Like people throughout Maine, I am shocked and deeply sad, acts of violence as we experience today shake our state and our communities to the center.”
Maine’s State Police responded Tuesday morning to Bowdoin’s house, where they found the four dead victims inside, state lieutenant Randall Keaten said Tuesday at a press conference on Tuesday.
Shortly after, the authorities received reports from several vehicles that were beaten by shooting in the I-2995 in the Yarmouth area, which is about 40 minutes from Bowdoin.
Three people were shot while driving and were hospital tasks, state police said. At least one of those three was in critical condition on Tuesday, authorities added.
“We have vehicles that have a bone beaten by straight shots in everything we are receiving reports, so if someone has holes in their vehicles, contact us so that we can track that,” Keaten said.
The victims who are in Bowdoin’s house and the shootings on the road are connected, Keaten said, added that there is no threat to the public.
The four bodies were tasks for the Office of the main forensic doctor in Augusta, where autopsies will determine the form and cause of the Death Police of the State Police.
The authorities have asked anyone who has witnessed something or who has information about the incidents on Tuesday morning to communicate.
“A lot happened this morning between those two scenes and those are the people we want to talk to, those people who were affected by this,” said Keaten, adding that the authorities continued working on several scenes impacted and collecting more information.
