Thought controversial, One of the Least Contentious 2025 Oscar-Nominated Films was “Conclave,” An Edward Berger-Directed Mystery Thriller Starring Ralph Fiennes, Isabella Rossellini and Stanley Tucci, Which Brings To Life the Political and Life Life the Political and Life and Life the Political and Life the Political and Life the Political and Life the Political and Life the Political and Relige The Political and Relige The Political and Relige The Political and Religia The politics and religion The politics and religion The politics and religion The politics and religion The politics and religion The politics and religion The politics and life politics The politics The politics and life of a new Pope.
The conclave will meet again today when the Vatican revealed that Pope Francis, 88, the leader of the Catholic Church, died on April 21, 2025, the day after Easter Sunday.
Although published in October 2024, “conclave” touched a sensitive fiber with the spectators, since the health health of Pope Francis became known to the public in February 2025. Pope Francis fought against bilateral pneumonia in the months of death.

The film closely follows the novel of the same name written by author Robert Harris.
“That was quite precise,” Dennis Doyle, Professor Emeritus at the University of Dayton in Ohio, told Fox News News News.
Doyle taught at the Catholic Research University for 40 years.
“There were only some differences, like some of the Latinos were not exact, the carpet was red in the movie and its beige in real life,” Doyle said. “The seat packages became very dramatically in the film. They are not exactly in real life. And even the way the vote was made was not exactly the same.”
Who could be the next Pope?

Despite creative freedoms, Doyle felt that the film was “made with great precision.”
“I was surprised how well it was done and how they could introduce the characters in a way that each character in a certain sense was comprehensive,” Doyle told Fox News Digital.
In preparation for the movie, Doyle read the book twice.
“In the book, the character, transgender but did not achieve the operation,” Doyle said. “In the film, the character was intersex, someone who was born in both directions, but still did not achieve the operation.”
Some Catholics to social networks at the time the film was released to consider it as “anti -Catholic” and “dishonest”.
What is the papal conclave? Within the old process of choosing the next Pope

“I thought everything in the movie was very realistic until the end,” said Doyle. “I thought that, at a literal level, I was really very realistic. I don’t think that happens, that someone who was intersex was chosen Pope. But symbolically, I thought the end was very interesting.”
“I could see that the end could be a detour to some Catholics,” he added.
Doyle said that, although “a little crazy,” the film talked about the question of the role of women in the Church and if the Catholic Church can become equal to men and women.
“In the movie, all the people who serve the cardinals are sisters,” Doyle said. “All are nuns and in real life, in that building, there is simply a staff that works in that building, and it would be the people who would be fine and that would change the beds and that son of things.”

The deepest issue, said Doyle, is that the film portrays men in leadership roles and women as servants.
“The conversation about transgender is relatively recent [in the church]”Doyle said.” I really believe that conversation is more in the United States and Europe than in the Catholic Church worldwide or necessarily in Rome. “
The Vatican published a statement, Dignitas Infinita del Vaticano, in 2024, where Pope Francis condemned gender theory. The document said that attempts to alter an individual’s immutable genre are attempts to play God.
“You could see this whole movie and until the last two minutes it is not a problem in the movie. It really does not come. There is a couple of omens of what the conclusion will be, but the movie is not about that.” Doyle said.
After the death of Pope Francis, Doyle believes that the recently launched film will generate interest in the Catholic Church.

“It can make people more aware that there is a lot of police that continues and that is an interesting topic in the movie and in the book,” he said. “I don’t think I really have any impact on people who think of the church that is not perhaps in general, makes the ideal of the conclave interesting.”
“Conclave” was nominated for a series of nominations for the 2025 Academy Awards, which include better picture and best actor, and won the best adapted script.
