Air Guardsman charged with antisemitic attack, bomb plot, extremist ties

A National Guard of Pennsylvania Air, once reliable in the security of the United States, faces federal charges after allegedly building explosives, promotion of extremist violence and destroying a Jewish synagogue, everything while lie on its soldier to the USS.

A Federal Grand Jury in Pittsburgh returned an accusation of nine charges against three Pittsburgh-Erswes, the United States interim prosecutor announced this week, Troy Rivetti.

The accusation appoints Mohamad Hamad, 23, or Coraopolis; Talk A. Lubit, 24, or Pittsburgh; and Micaiah Collins, 22, or Pittsburgh, as accused.

Hamad and Lubit had been previously accused of their roles in the distrust of Jewish religious property with pro-pa-elastine and antiisraeli graffiti.

According to an accusation, Hamad enlisted in the Air Force, National Air Guard of Pennsylvania (PAANG) in 2023, joining the 171 maintenance squad with headquarters near the Pittsburgh International Airport. As part of his enlistment, he sought a high secret security authorization.

While undergoing his background investigation, including three interviews in person, Hamad allegedly made a series of false statements, pulling his “final loyalty” went to the United States.

Actually, judicial documents show the privatee terrorist groups of Hamad and expressed a deep hostility to the United States. The accusation also alleges that, duration in this same period, Hamad conspired with the coacusado Collins to manufacture and possess destructive devices. A chilling conversation captured Hamad admitting that he was “really scared” from the bomb he built, while Collins enthusiastically discussed the potential to “take Bros Anles.”

Hamad’s actions were not limited to the construction of bombs. In social networks, he openly published images that support Hamas agents, expressed the envy of jihadists killed in action and published threats such as: “I can’t wait until the day when Muslims kill you. I would be very happy …”

In a separate conspiracy, Hamad and Lubit supposedly attacked Chabad or Squirrel Hill, a synagogue and a Jewish educational center in Pittsburgh. Using a Hamas style headband, Hamad performed the synagogue surveillance. Lubit later allegedly allegedly painted with “Palestine” spray along with a red triangle symbol inverted, a symbol used by Hamas to mark the objectives and outside the synagogue.

In encrypted messages, Lubit said chillingly: “I can literally feel that I begin to see the Jews as my enemies,” according to the accusation.

Federal researchers then linked to Hamad and Lubit with additional vandalism or a closer Jewish federation sign, further increasing community conerns on directed anti -Semitic threats.

“As he alleges in the accusation of Supersding, Mohamad Hamad’s song about his loyalty to the United States, among other false statements, in an attempt to obtain a high secret security authorization,” Rivetti said. “Duration at that time, openly express support to Lebanon, Hezbollah and Hamas.”

Rivetti emphasized that the position remains “resolved” by safeguarding the Jewish community and the public.

The law establishes maximum penalties of up to 10 years in prison and a fine of $ 250,000 for Hamad, five years and a fine of $ 250,000 for Collins and a year and a fine of $ 100,000 for Lubit, depending on the Serian and any previous criminal.

The United States Attorney, Nicole Vásquez Schmitt and Carolyn J. Bloch, are processing the case with the assistance of the National Security Division of the Department of Justice.
