An 11-year-old witness points a finger at her father’s suspected killer: Her sister’s forbidden boyfriend

Around 6:15 am, when the house is calm, Sierra leaves his room to find his father and older sister Ellie have disappeared. She sees the walls of the living room covered with blood and shattered glass of a upper lamp on the floor. Then ask for help.

Sierra is taken to his mother Maggie’s house friar to a couple of blocks away.

Maggie Fray calls 911 at 6:42 am “something happened and nobody can find my ex -husband or my eldest daughter … there is blood everywhere.”

The search is underway for Aaron and Ellie Fraiar

At 6:43 am, Medford, Oregon, police officers are sent to the house of Aaron Fraiar for a social assistance check and a case of missing persons is declared.

The officer Logan Boyd approaches Aaron Friar and sees a blood path visible from the front to a back door that leads to a alley. The blood path continues for a few feet and then disappears. There are fresh tire clues near where the blood path ended.

Aaron Friar’s car is also reported that it disappears.

A great death investigation begins

Based on the entire scene and suspicious circumstances related to missing persons, an important assault research unit begins.

Of every hand

At 7:40 AM, a request is with all Medford police detectives to respond to the Casa de Frailes.

Around 9 am, det. Shannon Reynold Sierra’s interview, who says he was hiding in the bedroom, but then looked out his window and saw Ellie Gavin Macfarlane’s boyfriend outside the house. She mentions that Macfarlane is not allowed in the house and that Aaron Fray had banned Ellie to see Gavin after learning that she was 19 years old.

A break in the case

This is the break that the police were looking for. Detectives begin to track Macfarlane’s cell phone.

“We could see … there was blood outside the bumper he had been dripping,” said the medford police detective, Bill Ford, “48 hours.” When this trunk opens … there are large amounts of blood. I mean he is soaked on the carpet. “

At 9:52 am, Aaron Friar’s missing vehicle is about five miles east of his house.

Officers notice dry blood in the rear bumper and find more blood soaked on the trunk carpet.

At 10:48 am, four hours after the police are sent to the crime scene in the Casa de Frailes, Ellie is unharmed walking next to a busy street a few miles from her father’s house.

Ellie is with two men: her 19 -year -old boyfriend Gavin Macfarlane and her friend, Russell Jones, 22.

At 10:51 am, the three are separated, handcuffed and in tasks in custody to interrogate.

The main detective Bill Ford decides to interview Jones before Macfarlane, since Ford had a previous encounter with Jones and knows “is a talkative.”

Ford decides to try what he calls “Smokin” and Jokin. “ It takes Russell outside for a cigarette break.

Just a little about an hour after being arrested, Jones tells Ford that he can take him to the place where Aaron Friar’s remains were abandoned.

At 12:50 pm, in the direction of Jones, the remains of Aaron Friar are wrapped in a green canvas and a layer of Tinkerbell fleece or a remote road to only 20 miles to the north or in the house of Friar. With that discovery, the officially linked case of a missing person to a homicide investigation

At 12:50 pm, the homicide weapon, a baseball bat, is lodged in a tree near about 8 feet from the ground. The cause of Aaron Friar’s death would be determined later as the trauma of the forceful force to the head.

Three suspects, three stories

Knowing that Aaron Friar was killed, the police concentrate on his three suspects. To complicate things, the three begin to be pointed out with one finger to each other.

Jones told the researchers that Macfarlane killed Aaron Fray in self -defense.

Ellie said she believed that Jones was her father’s murderer.

Macfarlane said Ellie was the one who wanted Aaron Fray dies.

Three suspects, three pleas

In October 2018, Gavin Macfarlane declares himself guilty of murders and positions of murder conspiracy. He was sentenced to 25 years of life.

In January 2019, Ellie declared himself guilty of an adult position to conspire to kill her father, Aaron. He was later sentenced to 25 years.

In August 2021, Russell Jones appeared to a non -answer plea for conspiracy to commit a murder. He was sentenced to 15 years.
