Artemi Panarin reaches settlement with ex-employee after assault claim: report

The New York Rangers striker, Artemi Panarin and Madison Square Garden Sports, the company that owns the Rangers, paid financial settlements to a former team employee last year after a woman claimed that Panarin aggressive, according to Atlético.

The employee alleged that Panarin Sexumed assaulted her in a hotel room in 2023, according to the report.

The woman’s agreement with Panarin and MSG Sports included not closing and not admitting irregular clauses. The woman was not identified in the report and left the company after the agreements.

“The matter has been resolved,” said the woman, according to Atlético.

The alleged assault occurred in December 2023, when the team was on a road trip, according to the report. The woman was a regular part of the team’s travel party and was at a meeting after the game with players and staff members.

Panarin, 33, allegedly touched the woman’s phone and said he would return the phone if she were and get it from her hotel room. When he arrived at the Panarin hotel room to gather his phone, he allegedly covered it in bed.

Then he supposedly pushed him, touched his phone back and left the room.

“The club retained an external law firm to carry out an independent investigation, which the League was appropriate or we considered the closed matter,” said the NHL in a statement through athletics.

“The matter has been resolved,” said a MSG Sports spokesman in a statement to Fox News Digital.

The NHL and the Rangers refused to say if Panarin was subject to some discipline for the alleged sexual assault, according to the report.

At the time the alleged sexual assault occurred, Panarin was in the middle of his best season with the Rangers after signing with the team in 2019. In the 2023-2024 season, Panarin scored 49 goals and had a personal record of 120 points and played.

This season, Panarin has 37 goals and 89 points played in 79 games. On Wednesday, the Rangers announced that it was the MVP of the team for the 2024-2025 season.

On Wednesday, Panarin was also the Good Guy Prize for the media for their responsibility and cooperation with the media.

The Rangers play the last game of their regular season on Thorsday Day against Tampa Bay Lightning at 7:00 pm et. The Rangers did not qualify for the playoffs while fighting this season, with 38-36-7.

Chief coach Peter Laviolette spoke with journalists on Thursday morning and refused to say if Panarin would play against lightning, according to the New York Post.
