The Alameda County voter registrar published the Latest Electoral Numbers on FridayAnd the update showed that Lee was ahead of Taylor for almost 5,000 votes. According to the County Registrar, Lee has 50.6% of the votes, and a candidate needs 50% plus a vote to win. The next electoral update will be April 25.

“While I think the democratic voting process and the tickets will continue to be counted until Tuesday, the results are clear that the people of Oakland have chosen me as their next mayor. Thank you, Oakland,” Lee said at a station.

The member of the 7th District Council, Ken Houston, congratulated Lee on Friday before Taylor’s concession.

“She is humble. She says:” Wait until it ends “, to what I should go, I am saying that you cannot catch up with 5,000 more votes, of course, because people spoke,” Houston said.

Lee, a Democrat, represented Oakland in Congress from 1998 to resign in January. Last year, he also made a failed campaign for the headquarters of the Senate of the late Dianne Feinstein.
