Former President Joe Biden was among many world luminaries who attended the funeral of Pope Francis on Saturday in the Vatican, but not being the leader of the free world changes everything.
Biden was accompanied by his wife, former first lady Jill Biden, but were not sitting near President Donald Trump and other world leaders. Instead, the couple sat towards the back of the section of foreign dignitaries because they are no longer heads of state.
“Biden is no longer part of the Cool Kids Club,” said an X account, sharing an image of Biden near the back of the section at the funeral.

“Joe Biden was treated as a patient in the elderly home on the world stage, President Trump is treated as a rock star on the world stage!” Another person posted in X, showing the former president away from Trump and other world leaders.
Biden was also so escorted to his seat by his wife and a priest, grabbing both and moving cautiously.

Biden previously had Pope Francis on several other occasions, including Pope’s visit to the United States in 2015.
