Border Patrol reports continued ‘record low numbers’ of illegal crossings in March update

A new US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) report revealed that there were fewer appeal at the southern border throughout the month of March than in the first two days of the month in 2024 under the Biden administration.

The agency said in a position X that the last report reveals a “continuous record” or illegal crosses on the southern border.

The border patrol stopped a total of 7,181 illegal foreigners who tried to cross the southern border between the entrance ports in March. This constitutes a 14% decrease as of February when the border patrol arrested 8,346 aliens, and more dramatically, a 95% decrease in 137,473 aliens arrested under the Biden administration in the same period in 2024.

Meanwhile, the CBP field operations office, which manages the immigration application in the country’s 328 entrance ports, reported that national meetings averaged approximately 673 per day in March. This is 3% lower than the 693 daily average office meetings in the office in February and 81% lower than the average of 3,464 per day of March 2024.

CBP’s interim commissioner, Pete Flores, said the low numbers are due to dedicated agents of the agency.
