The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) said it will continue following the State’s Law that allows athletes to participate as the gender they identify, a spokesman told Fox News Digital.

“The CIF provides students with the opportunity to belong, connect and compete in educational experiences in accordance with the California Law. [Education Code section 221.5. (f)] That allows students to participate in school programs and activities, including sports teams and competitions, according to the student’s gender identity, irreplacement of the gender list in the student’s records, “said a CIF statement.

The Democratic majority of the California State Legislature rejected two bills that would have changed state law to prohibit trans athletes of girls sports on April 1.
