What makes this humanoid robot so special?

So what makes Reachy 2 stand out? Well, first, it is a latest generation humanoid robot that already makes waves in laboratories such as Cornell and Carnegie Mellon. It is designed to be friendly and accessible, the natural interaction of the invitation. This robot is open source and compatible with VR, perfect for research, education and experimentation with the incarnate.

The innovative orbit articulation system gives the neck and dolls of Reachy 2 soft and multidirectional movement, which makes it expressive. Reachy 2 also presents arms inspired by humans.

Its mobile base, equipped with OMNI and Lidar wheels, allows perfect navigation, and the VR teleping function allows you to literally see through the robot’s eyes! Finally, their collaboration and customization of the open source nature foster, with Palen Robotics by providing a ton of resources in its clamp organization.

Technical specifications

This humanoid robot combines advanced vision, audio and actuator systems for the interaction and teleperation of the avant -garde. Here is a quick look at what Reachy 2 reaches to the table. Match between 4.46 and 5.45 feet high and with a weight of 110 pounds, presents bio-inspired arms with 7 degrees of freedom, capable or management of useful charges of up to 6.6 pounds. It is also equipped with a parallel clamp controlled by Torque and multiple cameras for the perception of depth, in addition to a high quality audio system. Navigating its environment is very easy thanks to its omnidirectional mobile base.

When it comes to perception, Reachy 2 has a vision module in its head with dual RGB cameras and a flight time module for depth measurement. There is also an RGB-D camera in its torso for precise depth detection. Immersive stereo perception is achieved through microphones in Reachy’s antennas.

For interaction, Reachy 2 has personalized speakers with a high quality amplifier and an Ai-Micro Audio interface. His expressive head works with an orbit system, and has motorized antennas for improved human-robot interaction.

Reachy 2 manipulation capabilities express their voice of their 3D and 2D orbit parallel mechanisms, along with a parallel clamp based on DynamixexE that presents a Torque control.

Scope control 2 is a Solidrun Bedrock V3000 unit, with external hardware. Finally, the mobile base includes omnidirectional wheels, corridor sensors and IMU, an RP Lidar S2 and a Lifepo₄ battery.

Hugging pollen face and robotics.

So what does it mean to hug your face collecting pollen robotics? Well, I could indicate a great boost to make robotics more accessible. Think about it in this way: the co -founder of Hugging Face Thomas Wolf and the chief scientist of Hugging Face says: “We believe that robotics could be the next border unlocked by AI, and should be open, affordable and private.”

Matthieu Lapeyre, co -founder of Pollen Robotics, echoes this feeling: “Hugging the face is a natural home for us to grow, since we share a common goal: putting AI and robotics in all of everyone.”

The acquisition of Hugging Face Robotics Pollen represses its fifth acquisition after graduation and xethub. This movement solidifies Face’s hug with open source AI and its vision for a future where AI and robotics are accessible to all.

Kurt’s Key Takeways

In a nutshell? Hugging the face is making movements. Who knows, maybe one day we will all have our own reach to help with tasks (or simply stay in the company). In any case, the collaboration between embraceing the face and robotics of pollen definitely is worth watching.
