The China Ministry of Commerce described the exemptions of the US rate. A “small step” and urged the president of the United States, Donald Trump, to “completely abolish” reciprocal rates, which include a duty of 145% in China imports.

“We urge the United States to pay attention to the rational voices of the international community and national parties, take a big step by correcting their nuclear, completely abolishing the unfair action of the ‘reciprocal tariffs and returning to the correct dialogue differ through that in an online statement, according to a translation of CNBC.

The Ministry also said that China is “evaluating the relevant impact” of tariff exemptions in some technological products announced Friday night.

The White House did not immediately respond to the request for CNBC comments.

The response in China to US tariffs can be seen both in state media and social media. Recent exemptions are presented at the national level when Trump is going back and more evidence that US companies cannot easily replace Chinese.

“Public opinion widely considers this as another withdrawal from the United States government about its tariff policies,” Beijing’s official Daily wrote.

In the popular social media platform of China, Weibo, the hashtag “The Trump administration retires again” occupied the number 2 on the Hot search list.

The Trump administration on Friday night exempt some widely used devices and technological components, including smartphones, computers, semiconductors, solar cells and flash units, reciprocal tariffs, according to the Customs Guide and the border of the United States.

The measure was seen as a great victory for technological giants, including Apple, which manufactures many products in China. But the lasting effects on the American economy and the small businesses of China’s tariffs can be irreversible, CNBC reported previously.

A 20% tariff over all Chinese products is still valid, despite the tariff exemption announcement.
