The director of the CIA, John Ratcliffe, declared in an internal memorandum that China is the main priority for its agency, warning that “no adversary in the history of our nation has presented a more formidable challenge or a strategic competitor capable of the Chinese communist party.”
The internal memo of the CIA aimed at the rank of the agencies and the file was provided to Fox News by a senior CIA official on Thursday.
“For the CIA to the continuous defense of our nation, we will build our solid base and pursue with the laser approach the short -term priorities for the CIA required by our president and our country. China is in the upper part of that list.
“No adversary in the history of our nation has been presented with a more formidable challenge or a more capable strategic competitor than the Chinese Communist Party,” he continued. “It intends to dominate the economic, militarily and technological world, and is trying aggressively to compete to the United States in every corner of the world.”

Ratcliffe said that the CIA must continue to respond to the threats that China represents “with urgency, creativity and sand.”

Ratcliffe said: “Technology is another priority; one that is intertwined in many ways with the threat raised by the CP.
“Emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and quantum computing will define the future of national security and geopolitical power,” he wrote in the memorandum.

“Competitively, our adversaries-China, Russia and Iran are seen to obtain support points in the countries of our almost fat. The US people deserve our best effort.”
