The Committee of the Supervision Chamber and Government reform is investigating how Harvard University uses taxpayers money as the school faces scrutiny on civil rights issues such as anti -Semitism.

The president of the Committee, James Eat and the president of Republican Leadership of the House of Representatives, Elise Stefanik, sent a letter to the president of the University, Dr. Alan M. Garber, on Thursday afternoon, after the Trump administration arrested $ 2.2 billion in funds for school. The National Security Department is also discarding $ 2.7 million in grants, and IRS weighs the tax exemption status of the University.

The objective is to decide ultimately “if the legislation is necessary to ensure that higher education institutions that receive federal financial assistance can no longer violate the law while profitively benefiting from the US people.”

John Yoo says that Harvard has no “right to federal subsidies” in the middle of the battle with Trump Admin.

The committee requests “documents and communications” to investigate the problem.

“On April 11, 2025, the officials of the General Services Administration, the Department of Health and Human Services of the United States, and the United States Department of Education wrote it with a conciliation agreement of proposals looking for Harvard to comply with civil rights laws,” says the Let.

“Instead of working with the government, you wrote to the Harvard community claiming that efforts to comply with the basic obligations of the Civil Rights Law would deliver their independence or renounce their constitutional rights,” he continues.

“Although Harvard is apparently preparing to reject all federal financial assistance to avoid complying with Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Law, Harvard has received Hogy sums from foreign sources, including authoritens.”

On the possibility that the federal government ends the university -free state, the university told Fox News Thursday that “it does not have a legal basic.”

“The government has long exempted tax universities to support their educational mission. Tax exemption means that more of every dollar can be scholarships for students, life and life of life and technological advances and technological and technical and technological and technological advances advances.

President Donald Trump has been a Harvard vocal critic, saying that his hiring has been “almost all awakened.”

“Harvard is a joke, he teaches hate and stupidity, and he should no longer receive federal funds,” Trump published recently.

Anti -Semitism on American university campus has become an important focus after protests against Israel reached a breakdown after Hamas attacks on October 7.

Harvard University said it is reviewing the letter on supervision research.

“Harvard is reviewing the committee’s investigation, whose announcement of the Freezing SD administration of $ 2.2 billion in subsidies and $ 60 million in contracts, scrutiny of visas from foreign students and consideration of revoking the commitment of the university Keprevars-App) of Harvard to maintain its independence and constitutional rights of Harvard,” said a spokespespone in a digital digital account statement.

“Harvard continues to comply with the law, and we have made significant advances to combat anti -Semitism on our campus, strengthen our policies, discipline those who violate our policies, encourage civil discourse and open and respectful promotion.

“However, complying with the demands of the federal government, which are largely related to the combination of anti -Semitism, would undermine our rights under the first amendment and due process under title VI and erode academic liberation.
