As the falsified Ozempic circulates in the United States, the Food and Medicines Administration has issued a warning to Americans.
In the announcement of April 14, the FDA declared that Novo Nordisk, manufacturer of Ozempic and Wogovy, notified the agency that “several hundred Ozempic injection units (Semaglutida) falsified 1 mg” were in the drug supply chain in the United States.
Ozempic is an injectable medication approach to treat type 2 diabetes. Wegovy, the same medication but at a high dose, is approved to treat obesity.

“Falsified products were distributed outside the authorized supply chain of Novo Nordisk in the United States,” FDA said in its announcement. “The FDA confiscated the falsified products identified on April 9, 2025”.

Diabetes and weight loss drug ‘changed my life,’ says the senator: “I feel a younger decade”
Dr. Brett Osborn, a Florida neurosurgeon and longevity doctor who has prescribed mediations semaglutidos to his patients, has previously spoken about the dangers of the cheapest and falsified versions.
“Due to the cost of Ozempic admitted by the brand, more and more people turn to cheaper imitation versions, or are online or through unregulated channels,” Digital Fox News told Fox News.
“You should only use pharmaceutical grade versions prescribed by a licensed doctor.”
“These imitations are synthesized in the non -medical environment without the quality control or the necessary quality control, making them inherently risky.”
These medications can be harnesses when there is no supervision of their source or production quality, said Osborn.
