The Secretary of Transportation of the United States, Sean Duffy, found himself unexpectedly with a violent incident against a police officer in the middle of Washington, DC, on Tuesday afternoon.
In an X position, Duffy explained that he was walking towards the Yard Marina Metro station when his staff told him that a Washington Metropolitan Police officer Transit Authority Area (WATA) ended up stabbing in his face. Duffy said he was about to talk about traffic security when he learned about the incident.
Later, the WATA confirmed the incident to Fox News Digital, saying that an officer was stabbed “with an object of sharp metal” by a suspect who did not pay rate at the station.
“The officer suffered stabbing wounds and wounds on his face,” said a Wata official. “The suspect was arrested by nearby additional officers. The suspect has been put to trial and the weapon has recovered.”

In social networks, the Trump administration official described the incident as “horrible.”
“My thoughts are with his family and we pray for his rapid recovery,” Duffy wrote. “These acts of Violence of Sessses are exactly why @usdot is struggling to ensure our traffic systems again and take energetic measures against violent crime.”
Duffy also said he planned to meet with the Wata CEO to address the incident.
Duffy also shared photos of his own hand with police officers and said the victim was in a good mood after the attack.

“Grateful, the officer who was attacked was in a good mood after the incident,” Duffy explained. “@Usdot’s security detail could give him the first assistant [sic]. He said he is bitten, beaten and attacked almost every day.
“My thanks to him and all the brave officers of @Metransitpd,” he added. “They put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe. Violence against them cannot be tolerated and we must do better.”
Duffy also published a video or himself shortly after learning about the incident, appearing baffled by the act of violence.

“I was going to go down and talk to people in the subway, talk about security and cleanliness,” Duffy explained. “But before going down, one of our metropolitan police officers was stabbed in the face by some in the system.
“Once again, unacceptable. Our officers, our people deserve to be treated better.”
