The Palestinian Christians in Gaza and the occupied West Bank are celebrating temperate meetings that lead to Easter.

Israeli attacks in Gaza have killed at least 50 Palestinians in one day while Christians mark on Good Friday in the besieged and bombarded enclave.

More than half of the victims were in the city of Gaza and in northern Gaza, but mortal attacks in the place of Tok through the Palestine Strip, even in Khan Younis and Rafah in the south, medical sources told Al Jazeera on Friday.

The Israeli army said that the troops operated in the areas of Shaboura and such as-the-age near Rafah, as well as in northern Gaza, where Israel has control tasks or large areas east of the city of Gaza.

On Friday, Israel Defense Minister Israel Katz repeated that Israel intended to achieve his war goals.

“He [Israeli army] He is currently working towards a decisive victory in all sands, the launch of the hostages and the defeat of Hamas in Gaza, “he said in a statement.

However, Palestinian Christians in Gaza continued to hold temperate meetings that lead to Easter, in the midst of attacks.

Speaking to Al Jazeera of a local church, Ihab Ayyad said he used to meet other congregants and visit the houses of his neighbors every year to celebrate.

“This year, we did not make visits due to total destruction everywhere, such as [Israeli] The occupation forces have leveled most of the houses of my relatives and my neighbors, “said Ayyad.” Many of my relatives and neighbors were martyred or displaced in different places. We behave because we feel very sad. “

Ramez Al-Soury said he used to travel from Gaza to Bethlehem or Jerusalem for Holy Week.

But now, a “war atmosphere” permeates Gaza. “The smell of death is everywhere. The smell to kill and destruction presses us a lot,” he said.

In informing from the city of Gaza, Hani Mahmoud of Al Jazeera said that the Christian community is clinging to its faith and has met in one of the oldest churches in the world in Gaza, not challenging but in devotion.

“In Gaza, Good Friday is the power of faith and the quiet strength of those who still believe in peace, even when the world around it is nothing more than a scenario full of violence and death,” he said.

The rituals for Mark Santo Friday and Easter have also been heroes in occupied Bank.

There are about 50,000 Palestinian Christians in the region. However, Israeli authorities require that they acquire permits to travel to Jerusalem, which makes many unite those celebrations.

Moreover, Israeli settlers and the military also attacked the Palestinian peoples in their lands in the city of Biddya, in the Salfit Governorate in the occupied West Bank, according to Al Jazeera Arabic on Friday, temperate the celebrations.

The Palestinian red average said that a Palestinian was injured in the attack.

Local sources also all colonists assaulted Jabal Al-Urma, a hill in the city of Beita in the Government of Nblus, under the protection of the Israeli army.

The settlers are Israeli citizens who live illegally in private Palestinian lands in West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Israeli settlers and military violence have shot themselves in the West Bank, particularly in the north of the territory, since the Gaza War began in October 2023.
