DOJ indicts alleged high-ranking Tren de Aragua member on terrorism charges

First in Fox: The Department of Justice is accusing a high -ranking member of the Aragua about terrorism and international drug distribution positions: the first time the United States government is using terrorism charges to process a member of the violent gang.

Colombian authorities arrested Flores in Colombia on March 30, in accordance with a provisional trial of an arrest warrant that the United States had been requesting.

The State Department of State Trump appointed the Aragua Train as a foreign terrorist organization and a global terrorist specifically designated on February 20.

“This is the first time that the DOJ has used terrorism charges to process TDA members,” said Fox News Digital Department official. “The designation of President Trump’s foreign terrorist organization means that we have a more complete set of legal options to use against thesis groups.”

The charges filed against 27 alleged current and previous train members, the members of Aragua, include human smuggling, sex trafficking and murder.

The United States Prosecutor’s Office for the South District of New York said that 21 of the 27 alleged gangs and associate members are currently in federal custody. The statement said that 16 were already in federal criminal, immigration or state custody, and five were arrested in recent days.
