The Trump administration could soon implement radical changes in the United States Department of State, according to a draft of the Executive Order obeyed by CNBC that establishes what calls a “disciplined reorganization” of the Nation’s diplomatic service.
The order of the 16 -page draft, which is not dating, but seems to be prepared for the signature of President Donald Trump, would drastically change the department in the US embassies that cut and hit the organizations of Buraussssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.
The order also details the review of the process to select and train the diplomats of the United States.
According to the order, the changes are intended to “rationalize the delivery of the mission, project the American force abroad, reduce waste, fraud, abuse and align the department with a first American strategic doctrine that reflects the priorities of the executive branch.”
The draft of the executive order proposes the elimination of all “embassies and non -ascending consulates in sub -Saharan Africa” and the consolidation of regional offices worldwide.
The current regional agencies, according to the order, would consolidate under four “regional body”:
- Eurasia, including Europe, Russia and Central Asia;
- Mid-East, including Arab nations, Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan;
- Latin America, including Central America, South America and the Caribbean; and
- Indo-Pacific, including this and Southeast Asian, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bután and the Maldives.
The diplomatic presence of the United States in Canada would be drastically reduced under the order. In the future, the operations of the State Department in Canada “would fall under a significantly reduced delegate team such as the North American Affairs Office” within the Office of the Secretary of State for Marco Rubio.
The White House did not immediately respond to the request for comments from CNBC on the draft of the order.
The New York Times first reported in the document. Rubio, in response to the article, wrote in X: “These are false news.”
The draft of the order also requires the termination of offices and positions within the climate -centered department, women’s problems, democracy, human rights, migration and criminal justice.
In addition to the consolidation of embassies and consulates, the order would make fundamental changes in contracting practices in the department.
The long -standing exterior service officer would be discarded in favor of an evaluation based in part in itself the candidates show “alignment with the president’s foreign policy vision.”
The draft of the order says that “complete reorganization and transition” must be completed before October 1.
He also says that current foreign services officers or civil service personnel who do not want to participate in the new structure of the regional organization or “to serve the interests of the administration can choose to voluntarily separate from the extent” UNE TIME. 30.
