A group of Drag Queen from San Francisco called sisters of perpetual indulgence, a “order of rare and trans nuns”, self -proclaimed, is causing controversy in the days prior to its annual transgender Easter event.
This year’s event, which is what is called “No Easter without the T”, is meean to honor the transgender and presents a search for Easter eggs for children and a costume contest that encourages attendees to be dressed as “Hunky Jesus and Foxy Mary.”
The event invitation poster includes a representation of a tattooed “Jesus” surrounded by resistance men. The images published in the event in previous years include men dressed like Jesus with high heels, dresses and minimum clothing, and holding signs that say “Can I get a gaymen?” and “Haus de Jesus”.
According to the group’s website, it fits the winners of the contest include “Barbie’s Ken Jesus”, “Jesus historically precise”, “Transgender Maria de Guadalupe”, “Pro-Choice Mary” and “Black Woman as God”.
