New York Helicopter Charter, Inc., has been based on an emergency order of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) after a helicopter operated by the company crashed in the Hudson River last week, killing a family of five and the pilot.

FAA’s decision is produced after the helicopter company triggered its operations director after its decision to close flights.

“The FAA is taking this action in part because after the company’s operations director closed the flights voluntarily, it was fired,” the FAA said in a statement.

The FAA previously announced that it would continue to support the investigation of the National Transportation Security Board (NTSB) on the accident, while initiating an immediate review of the tourist operator license and the tourist operator security record
