New York Helicopter Charter, Inc., has been based on an emergency order of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) after a helicopter operated by the company crashed in the Hudson River last week, killing a family of five and the pilot.

FAA’s decision is produced after the helicopter company triggered its operations director after its decision to close flights.

“The FAA is taking this action in part because after the company’s operations director closed the flights voluntarily, it was fired,” the FAA said in a statement.
