The Spanish star returns from a set to beat Musetti 3-6, 6-1, 6-0, prepares to defend his title in Roland Garros.

Carlos Alcaraz has overcome a slow beginning to beat a Lorenzo Musetti affected by injury 3-6, 6-1, 6-0 in the final of Monte Carlo Masters, ensuring his first title in the prestigious clay event and winning the Frenchman of Momenth.

The Spanish dropped its first two service games and fought to find its early range on Sunday, particularly on its usual reliable right, since Musetti Tok is an advantage to claim the first set.

But Alcaraz responded with a dominant exhibition in the second, winning five consecutive games to take control of the game.

His physical power and his best selection of shots demonstrated too much for the number 16 of the Italian world, which was looking for his first 1000 Masters title.

Alcaraz broke into the first and third game of the decisive set, maintaining his control over the contest to seal the victory in the first European event of the European season of the season.

Musetti begins to show signs of right leg injury in the third set and received treatment at 0-3. Playing in his first 1000 Masters final, the 23 -year -old Italian had trouble moving and keeping up with Alcaraz towards the end of the game.

“This is not the way I want to win a game. I really feel sorry for him,” Alcaraz said.

“Really happy to have won Mount Carlo for the first time. It has been a really difficult week with many difficult situations. I am really proud of my Myelf, how I am with everything.”

Alcaraz has fought at times this year and an opening defeat was arriving against David Goffin in Miami.

It was the third consecutive final of Clay-Court de Alcaraz after winning the France Open and ending a silver medal at the Paris Olympic Games last year.

Alcaraz was playing at its level 23 and It will advance in a place in the ranking and move to Alexander Zverev to number two.

The certain comfort for Musetti is an increase in the 11th in the ranking and the promise of more to come to clay while the season builds the France Open in Roland Garros.

“One of my best tournament was likely,” he said.

“I am disappointed if I have not been able to finish the game in the best way for the crowd. You deserve it, so I will continue and try to take revenge again.”
