The Israeli forces have attacked the Hospital of Al-Ahli de Gaza with missiles, destroying the emergency unit and putting the hospital in operation in northern Gaza out of service, according to the correspondents of Al Jazeera.
Hospital health officials evacuated patients, while some of them, including critical patients, were forced to flee after the Israeli army issued a warning before the attack.
The air strike occurred “minutes after the army warning to evacuate this patient building, the injured and their peers,” said the Palestinian civil defense in Gaza in a statement on Sunday.
“The bombing led to the destruction of the surgery building and the oxygen generation station for intensive care units,” he added.
Hospitals, protected by international humanitarian law, have been repeatedly beaten by Israeli air attacks in Gaza since the beginning of the war in the enclave on October 7, 2023.
“Critical patients, including those of surgical and emergency units, are now left without shelter or oxygen,” Tareq Abu Azzoum of Al Jazeera said from Deir El-Balah in northern Gaza.

The Israeli army said the hospital was attacked because it was used for a “command and control” center by the “Hamas terrorist organization.”
In his statement, the Gaza government media office condemned the attack as an “atrocious and dirty crime,” saying that Israel “deliberately destroyed and left 34 hospitals as part of a systematic plan to dismantle what remains of the health sector.”
In October 2023, an attack at the hospital had killed 500 people.
Israel has repeatedly attacked hospitals in the Palestinian enclave with impunity through its devastating war.
