Two weeks after an attack of ax did not cause almost decapitated a man sitting with his wife at a bus stop in Tucson, Arizona, the suspect has been accused of first degree murder.

Daniel Michael, 25, was initially accused of aggravated assault with a mortal weapon and aggravated assault with a serious injury earlier this month after the April 5 attack that left Jacob Couch, 32, in life support.

On Friday, Couch died of his wounds, and Michael now faces first -degree murder charges, confirmed the Tucson Police Department in a press release on Saturday.

Couch and his wife, Kristen, were in California in mourning for the loss of their dead son, and decided to travel throughout the country back to their hometown of Arabs, Alabama, by bus.

On his way home, his bus stopped in Tucson, Luke told Fox News Digital.
