Two weeks after an attack of ax did not cause almost decapitated a man sitting with his wife at a bus stop in Tucson, Arizona, the suspect has been accused of first degree murder.
Daniel Michael, 25, was initially accused of aggravated assault with a mortal weapon and aggravated assault with a serious injury earlier this month after the April 5 attack that left Jacob Couch, 32, in life support.
On Friday, Couch died of his wounds, and Michael now faces first -degree murder charges, confirmed the Tucson Police Department in a press release on Saturday.
“He has the greatest I think,” said Couch’s younger brother Luke Couch, Fox News Digital earlier this month. “And I really say it. He was just a affectionate person. He loved his family. He was really big with his family.”

Couch and his wife, Kristen, were in California in mourning for the loss of their dead son, and decided to travel throughout the country back to their hometown of Arabs, Alabama, by bus.
On his way home, his bus stopped in Tucson, Luke told Fox News Digital.
“Someone told them to get up, and my brother took care of his own matters. You know, Hurn?” And then Kristen could say that the guy was really agitated, so she told him that they were getting up and were going to leave. “

When Couch is down to gather his things, “the man put behind him and swing an ax. And the witnesses said he raised the ax on his head and swing it,” he said.
Michael fled after the alleged attack, which occurred around 10 in the morning, was arrested three days later at his home in Tucson.
His lawyer, at the initial bond audience, said that his own defense could not be ruled out, but Luke Couch resisted that idea, with Count Fox News Digital, there was no evidence “to support that.

“And they said I was going to try to grab straws, grab anything. I mean, my brother was attacked from behind while ending. That is not a defense of his own,” Luke emphasizes.

“I want to make sure that man never do this again and no other family has to go through what my family has happened,” he added. “Seeing my brother lying in a hospital bed and unable to move, unable to do anything, it hurts to know that I could be there to protect it, I would have done it for me in an instant.
Couch was the father of a 15 -year -old girl.
