The director of “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York”, Chris Columbus, now considers the famous cameo of President Donald Trump in the film to “Curse” and “Albatross” around his neck.

The 1992 film presented a letter came through the then magnate of the Royal Farm as he himself giving instructions to the main character of the film, Kevin McCallister, played by Macaulay Culkin, at the Hotel Plaza in New York, which he owned at that time.

He thought that the appearance is considered an iconic moment in the film, Columbus told San Francisco Chronicle on Monday that he now wants him to have gone.

“Years later, he has become this curse,” Columbus said. “It has become this what I would like it to be there.”

Columbus told Business Insider in 2020 that Trump “Bull[ied] His way “in the movie saying:” The only way you can use the square is if I’m in the movie. “

However, in 2023, Trump said in a publication on the social networks that the filmmaker knew for his cameo, which Columbus now disputes.

“What is going through this type’s mind? He said. I wasn’t lying. He said I took him to be in the movie, but there is no world that would not be a factor to be in a movie,” Columbus SF Chronicle. “But we were desperate to get the Hotel Plaza.”

He continued, “but it’s [the cameo] there. It has become an albatros for me. I would only want it to have gone. “

Columbus said he was surprised at how popular cameo was, particularly the duration of the first projections of the films.

“We project the movie in Chicago, and when that moment arrived, the public goes crazy,” said Columbus. “They encouraged and cheered and thought it was funny. I think I know a lot about the comedy, but obviously I do not, because it was considered hilarious.”

Columbus joked that Hey cut the cameo now for fear of being deported, despite being an American citizen.

“I can’t cut it,” Columbus said. “If I cut it, I will probably send myself out of the country. They will consult me so that I am not suitable for living in the United States, so I will have to go to Italy or something.”
