Houston-area deputy shot, suspect wounded in shootout

A deputy woman from Texas was fired on Monday near the Harris County Family Center in the center of Houston and the suspect was also injured, authorities said.

The Harris County Sheriff, Ed González, said the authorities received reports from a shooting at the criminal justice complex around 12:30 pm, the Harris County PCT injured. 1 agent deputy, identified as Sheila Jones, was tasks of the Hermann Memorial Medical Center for helicopter.

Jones was working in security at the Family Law Center when a violent altercation occurred. After seeing that the suspect had a weapon, the agents chased him before he supposedly opened fire, police said.

After Jones was shot, other agents shot the suspect, who was also hospitalized. It was niece how many shots were shot.

Jones and the suspect are expected to recover.

A reason for the shooting has not been determined.

Jones, an army veteran whose son serves with the Harris County Sheriff’s office, has worked in the Police for 30 years, the last two with the office of the Harris County premises 1, the authorities told journalists on the scene.
