After a video that shows federal agents that broke a car window to judge that an illegal immigrant became viral online, immigration control and customs (ICE) is dissipating rumors about the agent involved and the detainee.

The trial was held by officials from Boston Ice and Tok Place on New Bedford, Massachusetts, Monday.

The footage, that the detainee’s wife, tok from inside a car, shows two federal agents trying to talk to two people who have locked tremors in the vehicle, claiming that they are waiting for their lawyer. After it was not successful to try to access the vehicle, the agents use a large hammer to crush the window of the car in the rear seat.

In all, the agents arrested one of the occupants of the cars, a 29-year-old Guatemalan man named Juan Francisco-Méndez.

According to the local departure of the new Light of Bedford, Francisco-Méndez’s lawyer, Ondine Gálvez, states that he has no criminal record in Massachusetts and seeks asylum status.

Francisco-Méndez’s wife, who is identified by the exit as “Marilú”, said the agents “took us violently” and “treated us very hard.”

Since then, the video has gone viral and has caused significant controversy. Some people online have just affirmed that the agent who broke the window is a member of the extreme right militia called Lewis Arthur.

An ICE spokesman told Fox News Digital that Francisco-Méndez “refused to comply with the instructions of the officers and resisted the apprehension” and that the agent’s actions were in line with the training to apply the minimum amount of need for strength.

The spokesman refused to publish the name of the officer publicly, but confirmed to Fox News Digital that “he is an agent of the federal law who has worked with ICE to help New England communities safe for years.”

“The officer registered a arrest in New Bedford, Massachusetts, is not the leader of the militia, Lewis Arthur,” said the spokesman, and added that “the rumors that circulate in the social networks that Ice Boston employed a leader of the Arizona militia to make arrests in New England in New England, but also are false Federals in Jeopardy. “
