Israeli strikes in Gaza They have killed more than 90 people in 48 hours, said Gaza’s Ministry of Health on Saturday, since Israeli troops increase attacks to press Hamas to free their hostages and disarm.

The dead include 15 people who were killed during the night, including women and children, some of whom took refuge in a designated humanitarian area, according to hospital staff.

At least 11 people were killed in the southern city of Khan Younis, several of them in a tent in the Mwasi area, where hounds of thousands of thousands of displaced people live, hospital workers said. Israel has designated it as a humanitarian area.

Four other people were killed in separate strikes in the city of Rafah, including a mother and her daughter, according to the European Hospital, where the bodies were brought.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that Hamas this weekend had “rejected a proposal that could lead to the release of half of the living hostages and the return of many of the dead.”

“Let me make it clear, we will not end the war before destroying Hamas in Gaza, before returning to all our hostages, and before making sure that the Gaza Strip no longer represents a threat to Israel,” Netanyahu said.

At Khan Younis funeral on Saturday afternoon, families weigh on the bodies of their relatives and shouted with pain. “Omar has gone … I wish it was me,” shouted the brother of one of the victims.

Israel has promised to intensify attacks through Gaza and occupy large “security areas” inside the strip. For six weeks, Israel has also blocked Gaza, except for food and other goods.

This week, aid groups generated the alarm, saying that thousands of children have malnourished and that most people are barely eating a meal per day as stocks decrease, according to the United Nations.

On Friday, Dr. Hanan Balkhy, head of the Eastern Mediterranean Office of the World Health Organization, urged the new United States ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, to push the country to lift the blockade of Gaza so that medicines and other help can enter the strip.

“I wish he between and see the first -hand situation,” he said.

In his first appearance as an ambassador on Friday, Huckabee visited the Wamed wall, the most sacred Jewish prayer site in the old city of Jerusalem. He inserted a prayer on the wall, which said he was written by hand by the president of the United States, Donald Trump. Huckabe said they were doing everything possible to bring home to the real hostages in the hands of Hamas.

The war turned when Militants led by Hamas attacked southern Israel on October 7, 2023Killing about 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapping 251. Most hostages have been released in high -fire or other agreements.

Since then, the Israel offensive has killed more than 51,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health, which does not distinguish between civilians and combatants. The war has destroyed fixed parts of Gaza and most of its food production capabilities. About 90% of the population is displaced, with hundreds of thousands of people living in stores of stores and bombed buildings.
