“We believe it is a large number of cases that are not reported and do not report,” Dr. Ir. David Sugerman, the main scientist of the CDC, said during a meeting of the Immunization Practices Advisory Committee on Tuesday.

State health officials reported 561 cases confirmed in 23 counties on Tuesday, an increase of 20 as of April 11.

Gaines County, the center of the outbreak in western Texas, now represents almost 65% of the total cases of the State.
