MLB News: Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani announces birth of first child

Shohei Ohtani is official as Dad.

He Los Angeles Dodgers‘Bidirectional superstar announced the birth of his first child, a daughter, in a social media post on Saturday. Ohtani welcomed his daughter with his wife Mamiko Tanaka.

“I am very grateful to my beloved wife that is born great to our beautiful healthy daughter,” Ohtani wrote in the subtitle. “My daughter, thanks for putting very nervous but super anxious parents.”

Ohtani also expressed his gratitude to Dodgers and medical staff who helped give birth to the baby.

Ohtani, 30, published in Your Instagram account At the end of December, he and his 28 -year -old wife, a former professional basketball player of his native Japan, were waiting for a baby in 2025.

“I can’t wait for the little rookie to join our family soon!” The December 28 position said. It included a photo that showed the dear dog of the couple, a lure and a pink monkey with flyers along with baby shoes and an ecogram covered by a baby emoji.

The Dodgers placed Ohtani on the MLB paternity list before their first series in the series on Friday night against the Texas Rangers. Manager Dave Roberts said before Saturday’s game that he expected Ohtani to join the club for Sunday’s final series.

Ohtani can lose up to three games while in Paternity Leave. The Dodgers have a day off on Monday, then play puppies in Chicago on Tuesday.
