The number of deaths reported marks one of the most mortal attacks in the US army in Yemen.
The United States air attacks in the Petrolero Ras Isa de Yemen port have killed at least 33 people in what would be one of the most mortal attacks against the country by US forces, report the media affiliated with Houthi.
Al Masirah TV said that the strikes early on Friday morning also wounded 80 people, citing the country’s Hodeidah health office.
The American army said that strikes are being carried out to cut a fuel source for huti combatants, and Washington has said that it will continue to attack the hutis sites in Yemen until the group ends its attacks against shipping.
“The objective of these attacks was to degrade the economic source of power of the hutis, which continue to exploit and provide great pain to their fieldmates,” said the central command of the United States in a publication about X.
Ras Isa houses an oil pipe and a port that are “critical and irreplaceable infrastructure” in Yemen, according to the United Nations Development Program and about 70 percent of Yemen imports and 80 percent of humanitarian assistance and Salaugh, Hodehyh and Salough and Salough.
The United States launched its large -scale campaign against the hutis last month
Since November 2023, the Houthis have launched more than 100 attacks in the Red Sea, one of the most important shipping responses in the world to the Israel-Gaza War, according to the Open Source Intelligence site Geopolitic Monitor.
Houthi numbers have increased since Gaza’s War began, growing from around 220000 in 2022 to 350,000 at the end of 2024 thanks in part to its anti-Israel position, the site said.
