A person is dead and another 11 wounds after an armed man opened fire in the middle of a popular tourist place in Myrtle Beach on Saturday night, according to the officials responsible for enforcing the law.
The Myrtle Beach Police Department shared that the shooting happened just before midnight on Saturday, in the heart of the famous entertainment district of the city, when the officers noticed a “disturbance that involved multiple people.”

“Our officer saw what happened, and when he saw that an altercation was a bar and shot a gun, the officer replied very quickly and, in my opinion, saved lives,” Betune told The Outlet. “Last night I could have a much worse leg.”

Bethune added that he was in Ocean Boulevard about an hour before the shooting occurred and that he would not have a leg if he felt insecure.
“This was an isolated incident. We had a great crowd on the boulevard last night, and we cannot always control what people are going to do, but we also close and do nothing,” Bethune said. “This is a great place to visit. It is not an insecure place at all. And I am not making light of what happened in any way.”
Representative Nancy Mace, RS.C., also shared her thoughts and said she was “devastated” when listening to the “tragic shooting.”
“Devastated by the tragic shooting in Myrtle Beach. Our hearts are destroyed by the victims and their families,” Mace wrote in an X publication.
